...Latin America is more diverse than many people think, it is as though various European (and other) nationalities came together, adopted Spanish as their language, and have combined many layers of Latin culture with their own, kind of like it was an alternate place to emigrate to, as opposed to North America.
In the south of Chile... Valdivia, Osorno, Puerto Varas, Puerto Montt... almost all enclaves of German ancestry who emigrated there all pre-Great War. Many German restaurants with menus in both German and Spanish. German is still spoken in certain parts.
