  • Love it.  I'm enjoying the talks very much.  They're up to part 5 now.

I remember starting a Charles Coulombe fan thread over at The gαy Sewing Circle.  Seems that recently, Tracy created an entire subfolder for Coulombe.

  • I wonder if he's ever responded to these criticisms: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-religion/1458990/replies?c=345

I can't find the original, which I read years ago.
Some would have people believe that I'm a deceiver because I've used various handles on different Catholic forums. They only know this because I've always offered such information, unprompted. Various troll accounts on FE. Ben on SuscipeDomine. Patches on ABLF 1.0 and TeDeum. GuitarPlucker, Busillis, HatchC, and Rum on Cathinfo.

  • Don't you mean Father Drolesky?  I understand he's been ordained.

  • I have corresponded with Dr. Droleskey and consider him a friend and a good Catholic and he hasn't been ordained. The malice against him is incredible.

  • I have been watching this video series. I think they are very good. It is a shame that they have so few viewers on youtube.

  • I probably got off on the wrong foot by selecting the most controversial topics as my introduction to these videos, but after listening to 3 or 4, I'd had enough.

Too much of an intellectual for me, with little to no recognition that most of life happens in very imperfect, human situations. He's the proverbial single man waiting out the Crisis in his N.O. pew because it's not Catholic to leave the official Church; meanwhile, giving not so much as a nod to the reality that raising families in that environment has a well-established low rate of success.
(That's an example. I don't know what sort of Mass he attends.)

Even those who don't think Archbishop Lefebvre was saintly are usually willing to concede that the Church is better off in 2016 than it would likely be had he not done the things he did. But, Mr. Coulombe says if the Archbishop had been more perfect, he would have never done the 1988 consecrations.

It was in the video called "SSPX".

He said the Archbishop was likely not excommunicated in 1988 because he acted out of fear, not because he was doing it for the good of the Church.

He elaborated the point by saying if the Archbishop had been more perfect, things would be different as he would not have done the consecrations out of fear, as Mr. Coulombe describes the Archbishop's state of mind.

    Ah.  I see.

I've never fully explored the legitimacy of those consecrations.  It's another thing I want to look into as soon as possible.  I don't understand everything about it.
