yeh, before I found this site, I would go to non-Catholic sites and they were snarky, always tried to one-up you and that kind of thing
same thing here
I don 't see much difference
I wonder if God does?
doubt it
I know you probably don't like criticism all that much, neither do I. It used to be very embarrassing and angering and even hurtful when I was constantly corrected for my actions (or omissions) when altar serving and the priest got frustrated with me (you see, I always did everything wrong and often forgot things), but I'm thankful for it because now I am a good and seasoned Master of Ceremonies thanks to listening to all those corrections (I even get praised once in a long while). I've even served for all the Resistance Bishops at this point. If you are on a website, especially an online forum, you should either listen to that person's criticism and contemplate what you can improve on, or brazenly state what you think with no regard to anything/anyone. If you are on a forum, expect LOTS of criticism.
Here is something to think about: Why are you on forums? What do you hope to gain from it?
Places like this are to have debates, report news, and learn things we may not have otherwise if we weren't here, and taking criticism is part of learning and honing our personality. Truly, I get how you feel, but get over it. Take it from one who's been there too: That attitudes prevents improvment and learning and only begets continual bitterness. Remember that when some one corrects you, it is because they actually care about your spiritual wellfare amd want to see you grow in the things that are good (even if "good" is relative to the person).
And I should also remind you that in the Spiritual Works of Mercy it says "Instruct the ignorant; Admonish the sinner. We are all sinners and we all know less then some-one else somewhere. That is why we must say "Thank you," because we should see it as that person doing (or trying to do) what God wants. Are you going to pick up your Cross or sit around complaining about a trivial conversation no one will remember? Even what I'm typing here will be ignored eventually, but that's fine since no one is the worse or better for reading it unless they so choose to be.
Also, people come to forums for companionship, but since we here are Catholics we are not just comrads, we are family. And there is a saying I grew up hearing "The more siblings fight, the more they love each other." So remember that when you are berated it's because that person loves you. Whether one believs that or not is a matter of choice, only you can decide what you do and believe.
*Fweew* That was long-winded.
Sincerely,
