Title: Can no good man (like Trey Goudy) stay in Congress long?
Post by: graceseeker on February 02, 2018, 02:55:58 PM
very sad we are losing Trey Goudy, who doesn't plan to run again

he is going back to the justice system... where things get accomplished, where Dem and Rep aren't ... predominate issues (we hope)

Yrs ago, he was involved (b4 he went to Congress ) in prosecuting a very bizarre case where a man murdered a woman for one of the most bizarre reasons.. bc he was convicted (or soon to be?) of molesting a child and thought that murder would look better on his paperwork when he got to prison.. !

(you know.. you've heard of prison inmates not "appreciating" child molesters)

Well, anyway... amazing how deeply I feel the loss of Gowdy in Congress. It seems Congress is so corrupt that few good men want to stay there long

Agree.  The very nature of the U.S. Congress is that any person who truly wishes to be honorable can remain there for a long time.

It is sad, because Trey Gowdy had a very, very safe Republican seat. Every election, he basically ran unopposed.

Lord have mercy.

We need more good men like Trey Gowdy.

Trey Gowdy is probably the only political person I've had respect for. I'm sure he'll keep up the good work no matter where he lands.

part of me started to t hink maybe he was being a little selfish for this decision? And yet I  would be a (objectively speaking) hypocrite to say that, since I myself would NOT want to be in Congress... surrounded by demons.. (oops, I mean) Democrats all the time...

And really the Rs are not much better, assuming they are better at all
they have made our governemmt bigger just like the Ds have... sometimes they seem to have grown govt even bigger than the Ds ..

That's just a vague feeling I have... after reading this and that and seeing .. this and that in the news...

I still say the Rs are better but really... ARe the better by much?

I like Ted Cruz also and all those who really stood against Ocare
and all the other ridiculous things Congress always seems to come up with... to shakedown We the People
to make this country socialist... which I say it already kind of is... the gov is meddling in our lives in every way possible... and we are too dependent on the damn thing

well, you'd think that seat is safe for another Republican
I just hope it isn't a rino who gets elected
