It speaks well of her, that in her speech she chose to quote Chesterton:

“Fires will be kindled to testify that two and two make four. Swords will be drawn to prove that leaves are green in summer. We shall be left defending, not only the incredible virtues and sanities of human life, but something more incredible.”

She was decrying the attacks on the family, and the homo movement (which is predicated upon a denial of reality and nature, because some men hate God's creation).

Here is the full Chesterton quote:

And the scepticism of our time does not really destroy the beliefs, rather it creates them; gives them their limits and their plain and defiant shape. She is not a conservative or Christian populist. If she was, then she would know that women in public office is wrong and against Christian ideals.

It seems for her, being abandoned by father at 11 years of age, politics filled the breach. Note that, while she identifies as woman and mother (of one) she does not identify as wife. It is a sad state of affairs.
