Bernie backers call coronavirus "Boomer remover"

DAILYKENN.com -- Younger supporters of 78-year-old socialist Bernie Sanders are referring to coronavirus as "boomer remover." The elderly are more likely to die of the virus than other age groups. Boomers are those born between 1946 and 1964. Sanders was born in 1941.

The online attacks most frequently seem to target Joe Biden supporters. Biden is doing well among Boomers. 

The attackers seem unaware that the Internet and the devices used to access it were largely invented by boomers. The boomerphobe hate speech appears frequently on Twitter with impunity; without repercussions.

• We wonder if the same Bernie backers will call the virus 'Negro remover' when correct fatality numbers emerge from sub-Saharan Africa. That region of the world has horrific health care systems and inadequately reports health care statistics. What's more, much of the world's resources are focused on managing the crisis internally, and may not be able or willing to provide relief for African nations.

• Notice that Democrats rage when coronavirus is associated with China, siting racism. Yet, when fellow Democrats use hate speech such as 'boomer remover,' they far-left remains silent. 

• The attacks reflect the apparent psychopathy common among socialists and communists. Killing fields and mass murder is a hallmark of such regimes of the past.

The phrase “Boomer Remover” was one of the top trends on the trending list on Twitter on March 13. The phrase is focused on young Americans celebrating the fact that the coronavirus epidemic is especially lethal to the elderly, particularly those of the Boomer generation who have been the target of Millennial resentment.

Sadly, a year or so ago, many posters here on CathInfo were ganging up against boomers and the false narrative that boomers are a bunch of leftover 60s  hippies who bankrupted the system (proving that even intelligent individuals can buy into false narratives.)

They seemed to forget that boomers are the generation who died, were maimed, or wounded fighting in Vietnam (like my DH).

They seemed to forget that they would not have access to the TLM if some boomers hadn't  fought for it.

They seemed to overlook the fact that most of us were never hippies, promiscuous nor druggies.

And they seemed to overlook the fact that, just as young people have been lied to and ripped off by the system, so have we. We were told that the money stolen from our paychecks was "earning interest" and would be returned to us. ha ha. With inflation, we will never get a fraction of what we paid in in the 60s and 70s when gas was 29 cents a gallon, chicken was 29 cents a lb., and ground beef on sale was 19 cents a lb.

And this past year, "social security" went up about $5 a month.

I wonder if these youngsters would be able to think of abortion-on-demand, that has killed so many millions of their potential confreres since Roe, and which they regard as an inalienable human right, as "Bernie backer remover"?  Their numbers would be much larger if they hadn't been aborted.

It cuts both ways.

They treat unborn children as less than human, yet in doing so, they treat them as more than human from their perspective. They think that our elders are just meaningless lives convulsing on the ground, who have only perpetuated more suffering, and that unborn babies are victims who didn't have any say in living at all. From their demonic, perverted perspective, up is down and down is up.

Well, the Boomers did wreck the world economy by refusing to have enough children to support them in their old age.  They made easy lives for themselves at the expense of future generations.  And sometimes God does not wait for the next life to allow the repercussions of one's actions to come back on them.

The world economy (or at least the economy of those parts of the world that like to have small, custom-built families at a time of their choosing) isn't the only thing they've wrecked.  Whatever happened to free (or nearly free) Catholic schools staffed by priests and religious, who often enough came from large families themselves, with large families able to give their children a decent Catholic education at nominal cost?  I went to such a school myself.  But, you see, you have to have vocations, and you have to have families large enough to sustain the school.  When you have lay teachers, you have to pay competitive salaries to attract the "best" teachers, and if you can't do that, you have to take what you can get, very often non-Catholic teachers (who ever thought you would see the day when...?).  In the present day, Catholic schools tend to be elite prep academies that charge an arm and a leg, poor students can't afford it (when you go the financial aid route, they dissect your family income down to the last dollar), and to keep the school viable, they have to attract affluent non-Catholic families who don't share a devotion to the Faith, very often families who don't want to send their children to the public schools for various reasons (cough cough... demographics, could it be?...) and can afford to avoid doing so.

The parochial school I attended tuition was only $5.00 a month and staffed by teaching Nuns and one or two lay
Teachers who were paid less than the Public School Teachers. That was before Vatican II. The monies came
from the collections at Mass. My parish had 7 filled Masses on Sunday.
The school I attended that was new in 1956 is now considered the most liberal and progressive catholic
school in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. The Nuns have long since left and now staffed by heretical highly paid
leftists and the last I heard the tuition is over $1000.00 a month.

That was basically my experience.  As long as the family contributed financially to the parish, even if it was just a nominal amount, all of the children could attend Catholic school, no questions asked.  The teaching staff was sisters and priests, supplemented by lay teachers, both Catholic and non-Catholic, who were paid about $6000/year (mid-1970s).  Very often we used old textbooks.  You did not have these incessant fund-raisers they have nowadays --- people would not have had that kind of money to spare.  The student body's makeup tracked that of the public schools --- you had stellar students, you had just average students, and you had some students who could barely write their names, they gave massive extra credit to push those boys (and it was usually boys) beyond the minimal 2.0 needed to graduate.
