Benito Mussolini: How the Italian Fascist could have saved Europe from World War II

I haven't had time to listen to the interview yet, but Mussolini became a great defender of the Church during his rule, he made the Catholic Faith the state religion of Italy. I remember reading an account on Ignis Ardens of S. Padre Pio telling his widow that he had been saved. How much better a man was he than the stinking filth that run Italy & other European countries & North America today, those who really rule nothing themselves but rather wait & lick the feet of their Jєωιѕн masters who tell them what shoe they will put on first in the morning, the left or the right.

Declaring Catholicism the state religion was nothing more than an attempt on his part to make himself more popular among Italians.  Mussolini was an avowed atheist who held opinions like Islam being a more effective religion than Christianity, and that the papacy was a malignant tumor in the body of Italy.  Mussolini's widow described him as irreligious.

Maybe you're right, but I'd rather have that, then what we got.

Mussolini converted before he was in power. Look it up in his autobiography. He didn't just make Catholicism the state religion, he also made the Vatican an independent state. He also got rid of the Mafia problem, fought against liberalism, communism, materialism, etc. He gave Italians work and fed the hungry. He restored the crucifix to the public life.
Here are the Fascist commandments: the Decalogue (Ten Commandments) of the Xª Flottiglia MAS of the Italian Sociali Republic:
1. God, Fatherland, and family are the principles of your existence.

2. If you give your word, let it be as the gospel. Do not make compromises, and you will not be compromised.

3. Defend the Fatherland against any invader. Its borders are intangible and for them you must fight to the ultimate sacrifice.

4. In peace or in war be loyal, honest and hard-working to feel proud to be Italian.

5. Respect yourself, respect others—be respected.

6. Stay true to your word and do not betray. Do not attack from behind: enemy and death must look each other in the face.

7. Discipline will be your guide: be able and know how to obey orders.

8. Your words fly, your example will drag.

9. Your thoughts, your actions, and your will must be consistent with the defense of the dignity and honour of the Fatherland.

10. Membership in the Decime is proudly your pride.

Some quotes from Mussolini himself and other notable Fascists:
"My spirit is deeply religious. Religion is a fundamental force which must be respected and defended. I am therefore opposed to anti-clerical and atheistic demagogy, which represents an old game. I affirm that Catholicism is a great spiritual and moral power, and trust that the relations between the Italian State and the Vatican will henceforth be very friendly." - Benito Mussolini, Statements Made in Lausanne, November 21, 1922

"Just before I came out here I went into the church and knelt before the altar. That was not done to pay superficial homage to the religion of the State ; it was the expression of an intimate conviction, for I believe that a people cannot become great and powerful, conscious of its destinies, without religion ; unless it looks on religion and feels the need of it as an essential element of its public and private life. With this thought as motive for your actions you will see how country is served above all in silence, humility, discipline, without many or great phrases but with unfailing daily works." - Benito Mussolini, September 23, 1924

Emilio Papasogli, in 1923: "In truth, Fascismo constitutes the reaction of the Latin mind and of Catholicism against the aberrations and the degeneracies of the modern spirit. The ascendancy of modern thought, born with the Protestant reformation and developed through the French revolution, is now at an end. With Fascismo, reaction and renovation, a new age begins."

"Enemy propaganda is supremely stupid if it is directed against me personally. This is the eternal system of the English. They always need to concentrate their hatred on one person, whom they call the incarnation of the devil. They are false Christians and truly anti-Christian. For me the Anglo-Saxons are and always have been enemy No. 1." - Benito Mussolini, Speech in Rome, June 24, 1943

“Today I no longer deny God by according him five minutes in which to strike me dead as proof that he exists. I now know why I was not struck by lightning: the Church needed me.” (Audience With Pope Pius XI, on the Anniversary of the Lateran Treaty, Feb. 11, 1932)

''Nicceolò Giani was a man of faith. And his faith was the kind which did not falter ever, and which remained in tact in good times and in bad... He believed in God, in the God of us Catholics and Italian Fascists..." - Fernando Mezzasoma, Speech Delivered at the Odeon Theatre in Milan, April 20 1941

The two links lead, it seems to me, nowhere.
The second Pelican Project still under construction.
ANd no title for said interview.
I'm puzzled.

Indeed! Our precious Postwar Narrative is at stake! Will this madness never end?

To quell any nascent existential Boomer terrors, a few comforting, familiar images may be in order:

No conversation about Mussolini on a Catholic forum would be complete without including a reference to Pope Pius XI's encyclical, Non Abiamo Bisogno.

What do you do for a living, Poche?

What made you suddenly decide to start posting on multiple internet forums back in the summer of 2012?

I am new to computers and my access to the internet is limited. That was about the time that I discovered the existence of forums, particularly Catholic forums.
