Reference? He apparently allowed it to be published, but I’ve never seen a reliable reference that suggested he funded it.
As if allowing the Bomberg тαℓмυd edition's publication isn't treacherous and subversive enough???
As if "Freedom of Speech" is a Catholic principle???
How do you assess reliability?
Hoffman discusses the Bomberg тαℓмυd and related subversions in great detail in his book:
The Occult Renaissance Church of Rome

I read Hoffman's book. I cross-referenced and corroborated a few of his salient claims and I am convinced in large degree by Hoffman's thesis, namely that The Church hierarchy was infected with тαℓмυdic/kabbalistic influence. That influence festered, trickled down to the Faithful with stereotypical incrementalism, weakened The Church, and exploded at Vatican 2.
A side note:
Let me say this in advance, nearly every time anyone mentions Hoffman, the cranks come put of the woodwork with their calumnies against him. I know Michael and consider him a friend. In the past I have spent days of effort defending him from calumnies. If it happens again, I will not address the calumnies. Instead I will let the calumniators go uncorrected to their personal judgments so that they may discover the truth and suffer their justice and all attendant excruciations. 'nuff said.
