    DAILYKENN.com -- Orson Bean is dead. The 91-year-old actor was killed while crossing a street in Venice, California. 

    Bean was best known for his television appearances in the 1950s and 1960s. Those included The Twilight Zone and To Tell The Truth. 

    Reports say Bean was J-walking when he was struck. The driver attempted to help the elderly actor, reports say. 

    Bean continued acting into his 80s. He made appearances on TV programs including "Modern Family" and "Hot in Cleveland."

    Bean began working as a magician in the 1950s. He transitioned to stand-up comedy. He found success in television game show appearances and numerous TV series.

    Bean's father was a founding member of the American Civil Liberties Union. Bean was blacklisted after attending Communist Party meetings. His daughter Susannah married conservative pundit Andrew Breitbart.

    His birth name was Dallas Frederick Burrows. He was born July 22, 1928. Bean died February 7, 2020 after died after being struck by two vehicles.

    I have never heard of him till I saw this.

    Couldn't have been the j-walking, could it?
    Or was he suffering from dementia?

    Generally 91 year olds can be pretty poor on their feet.
    Or it could have been just that his time was up!

    Kirk Douglas has also just left this world at 103 years of age.

    • I was sorry to hear it.  I remember him growing up, on TV game shows and the like.  Quintessential New England.  Nice guy. 

    There's abundant reason to think that he converted from his earlier affiliations and ideas, and embraced Christianity the best way he knew how.  This would be no consolation to hardcore EENS people, but I can be at peace with it.
