  • What do you think about the idea that ancient civilizations were given their knowledge about how to start civiliazation by fallen angels who wished to corrupt mankind? What if demons taught mankind about agriculture and warfare and other things to try to corrupt mankind and the people who learned these secrets from the demons then in return came to worship these demons as gods? This is similar to the belief that the ancient civilizations were given their knowledge by aliens which helped them build the pyramids and do other things that seem unexplainable.

There is no doubt that from the time of Adam & Eve the devils have been influencing mankind in many ways. This is Catholic teaching.

As regards astronomy and Egyptian pyramids, I am certain the bad angels gave them a knowledge that is to be found in their history.

Given there is no visual proof for their solar system, heliocentrism is conjured in the mind instead, and that had to be divulged to them by Satan so as to deceive the world from the very beginning.

‘The people worshiped the sun, moon, and stars as gods, and a knowledge of their true nature would have at once put an end to the influence of the priests, who were believed by the ignorant and superstitious crowd to be able to withhold or dispense, by prayers, invocations, and sacrifices, the divine favor. The priest of a pretended god, when once his god is exposed, stands before the world a convicted impostor. To deny the divinity of the sun, moon, and stars, or, what was the same thing, to permit science to disclose their true nature to the masses of the people was consequently held by the priesthood of Egypt as the highest of crimes. By knowledge of astronomy the priests were able to calculate and to predict eclipses of the sun and moon, events beheld with superstitious awe and fear by the multitude. Seeing how certainly these pre-dictions, when thus made, were fulfilled, the priests were credited with the power to foretell other events, and to look into the future generally. So they cast horoscopes and assumed to be prophets.’ ---Robert Hewitt Brown: Stellar Theology and Masonic Astronomy, p.9.

In the Holy Scriptures (3 Kings 16:31-33) we are told of Baal, the sun god of the Phoenicians, characterised by the most scandalously impure rites. Then there were the sun gods of the Canaanites and Mithraists of Persia. Sun worshipping is also condemned in 4 Kings: 23:5-11 and Wisdom: 13:2, the latter lesson repeated by St Paul where he writes ‘the circle of the stars, or the great water, or the sun and moon’ were created as witness to their Creator and not ‘to be the gods that rule the world.’(Romans 1:20)
The mysteries then spread east to Egypt where they were taken up by those whose ambitions were to control the minds of the masses.

In 1837 when popes of the Catholic Church went along with their heliocentrism paganism returned to rule mankind. The mind-indoctrinations of the devils would now bring on long-ages, evolutionism and Modernism that became the ROCK upon which agnostism , naturalism, Modernism and atheism could be built. The Genesis of God's word was replaced with the origins compiled by the Egyptians and their devils.

Finally, we could ask, how did they really find Neptune and Pluto?

    Martin gwynne Writes:

‘As is shown from time to time in this book, the writings of secret society initiates are normally not the innovations they appear to be but the reproduction, at what is deemed to be an opportune moment, of traditional occult lore which has been used in the past. Much so-called modern science is of this nature. ‘Nothing under the sun is new: for it hath already gone before in the ages that were before us’ (Eccles. 1:10). What is the solution? Ruling out pure coincidence there are four possibilities.

    (3) The third theory, which will be rejected by most readers but is in fact the most likely, is that the existence of Neptune has been known, presumably discovered by an earlier civilisation which possessed advanced technology, had been preserved in occult tradition, and was released to support Newton’s theory just as missing link fossils have been concocted to support Darwin’s evolutionary theory.
    (4) The fourth possibility is that the position of Neptune was revealed directly by Satan to his followers. This too is not improbable. Satan has his limitations – he does not know the future and he cannot read our minds (except what he can guess from external observation) – but he certainly knows where the planets are.
The circumstantial evidence, both negative and positive, in favour of one or the other of the last two possibilities is in fact surprisingly good. ............
The positive evidence is that we know for certain that there are occasions when bodies in the solar system are known about well before they are discovered. Of this inside knowledge we give two examples: The first concerns the two satellites of Mars, Deimos and Phobos. In the year 1720 Jonathan Swift’s famous work of fiction Gulliver’s Travels was published. In it Swift gave a remarkable description of two moons belonging to Mars, one of which he said was three diameters of Mars away from the centre of Mars and had a period of revolution of ten hours, and the other five diameters away with a period revolution of twenty-one and a half hours. More than one hundred and fifty years later, in the year 1877, it was discovered that Mars, which was until then thought to be on its own, did indeed have two satellites, so small that they were not observed until long after those of other planets (even of Neptune) had been discovered. Their respective distances from Mars and orbiting periods were just over two diameters and seven and a half hours and four diameters and thirty and quarter hours. Swift’s figures are not quite correct but anyone who imagines that he plucked the number of moons, and their distances and orbiting times out of his imagination is living in a world of fantasy. It is worth adding that Kepler too predicted two moons for Mars in 1610, his ostensible reason being that since the earth had one moon and Jupiter, at that time, had four, it was clearly logical to him that Mars must have two. Although this provides an excellent example of a wrong theory producing the right answer – once again we can suspect that what was published was not the real basis for Kepler’s prediction.’

  • The reason I asked was because I know that many ancient cultures had legends that "gods" came down and taught them how to progress from primitive tribes to more advanced civilizations. We all know that the "gods" of the gentiles were devils. I remember learning in my Chinese history class about the legendary divine rulers who taught the ancient chinese the secrets of agriculture, warfare, etc. And also the Book of Enoch talks about demons who came down to earth and taught men how to make weapons of war and other secrets to corrupt mankind before the flood.

  • Demons roam the world in search of souls to ensnare and destroy.  It's part of the Leonine prayers.  It's part of Catholic tradition.

I sometimes wonder if demons whisper in ears to lead souls to ruin.

We should pray daily for our own protection and the protection of those we love.

-----> May God lead all souls to the Traditional Catholic Church.

How about if it were the good angels who taught mankind about agriculture so that they could live better? There was an angel who taught Anthony the Abbot and Pachomius received his rule of life from an angel.

Yes, it is possible that good angels also taught humanity, but in the pagan cultures these angels were clearly fallen angels because the pagans called them "gods" and gave them false worship in opposition to the true God. A good angel would not allow such false worship. And also in the Book of Enoch, which of course is not accepted as part of the Bible, it says that angels rebelled against God and then came down and taught humanity these things (they also took human women as wives) and that they were condemned by God to hell for this rebellion.

  • Read the "Life of Christ and Biblical Revelations" by Anne Catherine Emmerich. In particular, book 1. It's fascinating.

When mankind split up after the Flood and the tower of Babel, you better believe that both Good and Evil were at work, influencing how things would turn out.

You know that Providence wouldn't have been "asleep" during such a crucial time -- God knows the future, and what affect the ancestors of the French settling in the "wrong place" would have on His plan for the world.

  • Edgar Cayce predicted that an underground vault containing ancient documents will be found under the left paw of the Sphinx.

There have been reports that modern instruments have detected a void down there but Egypt so far has not allowed for physical investigation.

  • Would you believe this occurred on Irish radio:

The Ryan Tubridy Show Wednesday 11 January 2017 - RTE

    www.rte.ie/radio1/ryan-tubridy/

... the life of Irish priest Fr. Malachi Martin and his experiences as an exorcist. ...

They are making a film out of it. If you can get through you hear them doubt the existence of demons taking over human beings.

Who was it said, 'So you you don't believe in Hell, well when you gert there you will?.

    And?

    Neither is the Encyclopedia Britannica.

And might I add, within the Bible is no explanation of dinosaurs, subatomic particles, or descriptions of our solar system's planets.

Fun thread!  Just waiting for Lighthouse to chime in and condemn you for daring to read the Book of Enoch.

I'm not so sure I'd categorize the Watchers as demons outright.  There were approximately 200 of them, and they seemed to be a sort of special case from the fallen angels that the archangel Michael fought.

Plus, it's not inconceivable that the Watchers started off as good and with a purpose from God.  But who can be sure?  The only way the living will ever know is if 1. some sort of amazing archaeological wonder is unearthed somewhere, or a library of tablets with a detailed history of before the Flood, 2. Sts. Peter and Paul tells us about what happened when they designate a new pope after the Minor Chastisement, or 3. we learn when we're dead and on the other side.

  • Check this out!  From The Angels and Their Mission According to the Fathers of the Church, by Jean Danielou.

    Quote
Thus, for certain of the early Fathers, whatever part of truth was known to the pagan peoples and was later to be recognized and taken up by Christianity, the wisdom of Roman law, the philosophical truths arrived at by Plato and Aristotle--all this came to them from the providence of the one God acting through the ministry of the angels.  "The universal providence of the One Most High God has, for the salvation of all the nations, entrusted them to angels who are to lead them toward God."  This means all nations.  Not only the partial truths arrived at by the Greeks and the Romans, but also those of other peoples, have been communicated through the medium of angels and are capable of being incorporated into Christianity.  Origen declares that this applies to the "secret and occult philosophy of the Egyptians and the astrology of the Chaldeans," and even "the Hindu claims pertaining to the science of the Most High God."  It is remarkable to hear Origen declare that the wisdom of India contains elements of truth which Christianity can recognize.  Now, this truth has come to each of these nations through their angels.  "We read in Scripture," continues Origen, "that there are princes over each nation--and the context makes it quite clear that they are angels and not men.  It is these princes and the other powers of this world who each have a separate science and a special doctrine to teach."
