  •                                   **APPEAL TO THE FAITHFUL**

Faithful to the heritage of Abp. Marcel Lefebvre and in particular to his memorable Declaration of the 21st November 1974, “we adhere with all our heart, with all our soul, to Catholic Rome, guardian of the Catholic faith and the necessary conditions to maintain this faith, to eternal Rome mistress of wisdom and truth.”

According to the example of this great prelate, intrepid defender of the of the Church and the Apostolic See, “we refuse on the contrary and have always refused to follow neo-Modernist and neo-Protestant Rome which clearly manifested itself at the Second Vatican Council and after the council, in all the reforms and orientations which followed it.”

Since the year 2000 and in particular from 2012 the authorities of the Priestly Society of Saint Pius X have taken the opposite direction of aligning themselves with modernist Rome.

The Doctrinal Declaration of the 15th April 2012, followed by the exclusion of a bishop and numerous priests and confirmed by the condemnation of the book, “ Monseigneur Lefebvre , Our Relations with Rome”, all that shows the pertinacity in this direction which leads to death.

No authority, even the highest in the hierarchy, can make us abandon or diminish our Catholic Faith clearly expressed by the Magisterium of the Church for twenty centuries.”

Under the protection of Our Lady Guardian of the Faith, we intend to follow operation survival begun by Abp. Lefebvre.

In consequence, in these tragic circuмstances in which we find ourselves, we put our priesthood at the disposal of all those who want to remain faithful in the combat for the Faith.

This is why from now on, we are committed to respond to the demands which will be made on us, to sustain your families in their educational duties, to offer the priestly formation to young men who desire it, to safeguard the Mass, the sacraments and the doctrinal formation, everywhere we are required to do so.

As for you, we exhort you to be zealous apostles for the reign of Christ the King and Mary our Queen.

    Long Live Christ our King!
Our Lady Guardian of the Faith, protect us!
Saint Pius X, pray for us!

    The 7th January 2014

We are at the disposal of our brother Priests: several have not been able or have not wished, for the moment to associate themselves with our stance. That they do not hesitate to make contact with us (discretion assured).

We are also at the disposal of the traditional religious communities who understand the extreme gravity of the actual situation.

  • Praises be to God!   They are assured of our prayers!

Maybe it doesn't mean anything, but the fact that so many French priests are holding fast to the faith seems very auspicious for some reason.

  • These news are extremaly important since the Dominican from Avrille have been the main doctrinal authority in tradition for the last 20 years. Their explicit Resistance speaks loudly that there are serious doctrinal problems in the NEO-SSPX!!!!!!

  • Sooo, how many priests are there all together?
Do you think B. Fellay will address these signatures or any news that has been announced? I do not, he has been silent on the whole matter in general. Maybe he thinks "ignore the problem and it goes away".

He will see it as an opportunity to identify and expel more intransigents and replace them with more 'modern men'. If he is a clever liberal he will have already set up a 'fire service' to deal with outbreaks of rebellion whenever and wherever they happen. The French district will be his greatest challenge; he has already removed the Paris prior and the superior's replacement is due.

The SG has instituted a new policy as regards tradition and Rome. This policy encapsulates the softer side of ABL and disposes of his harder side. It is the new SSPX. Priests and parishes may leave which is nothing new but the power resides where ABL intended it to reside.

    The list is most impressive.

We should commit it to memory.  Each and every one of these names are important.  These are the men who have done the right thing in the face of worldly adversity that would challenge their faith.  They deserve our utmost respect and recognition.

I noticed that Fr. Joseph Pfeiffer is not on the list, nor is Bishop Williamson.  Also, what has become of Fr. Faure, in France?

There are 36 priests here, and if you add Fr. Pfeiffer and +W, that's 38.

Why does the title of this thread say 45 priests?  Are there 7 more not listed?

I made in red font the locations of priors, founders and coordinators in France, because it seems to me that such priests will be seen by all the French to be leaders behind whom they can organize.  It seems to me that if +W is going to consecrate one or more bishops, at least ONE of them should be such a French leader, in order to mobilize the Resistance in France.  Against such a movement, the SG Fellay will have no recourse.

  • Neil -- please make note that there are ten (10) additional priests from the Couvent de la Haye aux Bonshommes in Avrillé:

Fr. Pierre-Marie OP and 10 other priests from the Dominican Convent of Avrillé (France)

    10 + 1 = 11 total from Avrillé.

So add them into your total.

Also, I have read that Fr. Pfeiffer did sign, but for some reason is not on the list. (A German blog site reported this.)

Bishop Williamson does not have to sign. We know where he stands.

They're sore with him is what I heard. He told Menzingen what the French were going to do a week before it happened and messed them up big time.

  • Bishop Williamson and Father Pfeiffer aren't the only ones who didn't sign. Isn't there also a Father Iglesias in the Resistance? I also heard heard someone mention another known Resistance priest the other day who hadn't signed, but I can't remember who.
