My wife is 37 weeks along and her last visit to the doctor revealed an abnormally high blood pressure. Normally it's perfect but this time it's higher. She was put on pictosin with our first so we're trying to keep from having an induction if possible to reduce complications. It's hard finding anything online as to alternative solutions. Obviously we want to make sure she's safe and has a safe delivery with our new baby. Am wondering if anyone has any resources we could look at on induction or mild/gestational hypertension that are "naturally" minded.
Pre-eclampsia (extreme high blood pressure) can often be caused by doing too much. Has she been exerting herself too much? Can she try and rest and see if that will help?
Magnesium is a relaxant and this why I believe is why many doctors use it to treat pre-eclampsia. (I sometimes use calcium citrate magnesium pills to help me sleep at night if I have done to much during the day.)
Have her feet been swelling a lot and does she have extreme headaches? Those are the real signs usually that the blood pressure is too high. If not, it may have just been a one time thing. Not having to be induced is worth waiting if she doesn't have those symptoms. Having an preemie baby is hard.
May I ask what is your wife's first name? We will add her to our expectant mother intentions in our daily rosary.
Hang in there and definitely keep us posted!
