The two cases here locally recovered without medication (although, they were both young and presumably healthy), so a lack of medical care wouldn't explain why some were dying form this in Mexico.

I know you "personally feel" it's nothing major, and others wonder what all the hoopla is about --

But it doesn't change the fact that there's some new strain of influenza going around that is causing deaths in Mexico, which has resulted in a near total lockdown in Mexico city. Also, the strain seems to be a (manmade?) splicing together of several other flu strains. So it could be a bio-weapon.

Do you want to take that chance? They say it's in the US, they say it's fatal in Mexico -- if you think you'll be fine because you're not Mexican, you're welcome to take that chance. No one's going to stop you. I, however, will play it safe!

A school district 20 miles from where I live has cancelled school for a WHOLE WEEK!

So it's not just a few prophets of doom here & there getting excited about this.
