  • I used to like the smell of "Gravy Train" dog food when I made it for my dogs.   Never tasted it though?

It may come to the point where a 25lb. bag of gravy train is a feast

  • In case anyone is seriously considering it.

Dog food contains animal products that humans typically don't eat, such as ground bones and internal organs. The meat products are sometimes raw or uncooked. Dog food also doesn't usually have vitamin C, because unlike humans, dogs make Vitamin C on their own.

So dog food may be tolerable for humans short term, but it's not good for humans long term. It's not designed for that.

As children, a few of us tried pet foods because the animals seemed to enjoy them so much.  I’ve tried corn mash in the chicken coop, oats from the horse, calf grow formula, cat chow, rabbit pellets, and milkbones.  The only one that was palatable was the milkbone.  My cousin and I used to split one and pretend to be dogs.  I liked the sparkling tooth on the collie on the box photo.  I wanted clean sparkling teeth, too!  My youngest sister and I had a Cat Chow eating contest.  I won, but the ending wasn’t pretty!  I entered church fighting nausea, and the Chow reappeared in the middle of Fr.’s sermon.

  • Eating dog food?!  :fryingpan:  I would starve because I can't stand the smell or the looks of it.

This reminds me of my cousin's friend that would eat Milkbone biscuits.  One year the box said it was ''new, improved flavor'' or something like that, he said it was a lie because it tasted exactly the same.  :jester:
