    • Hello, I am interested in growing a dwarf Gros Michel tree indoors in Michigan. I heard that dwarf banana trees can grow to be 5-8 ft tall.
    What are some good grow lights that are 8 ft tall or more and what would you guys recommend for taking care of the plant?

    • I'm Intrigued. Bananas in Michigan! They would work out to be pretty expensive bananas I guess.

     Do you grow anything else indoors artificially?

     I have only grown bananas naturally in the tropics, and they were the lady finger variety, sometimes called sugar bananas. I had never heard of gros michel.

    Sorry I can't say anything about grow lights.

    • I don't know what kind of grow light to reccommend for that. I have friends who built a small greenhouse onto their house with recycled materials to keep a few tropical trees in. It didn't cost much because they did the labor and used old windows and used lumber.

    No, I never have used grow lights before. Gros Michel bananas were the bananas you would see in stores prior to the 60s. Banana flavored candy is based off of their flavor.
