I read that book a long time ago - it's a good book.
For me, that equates to roughly 11 or 12 glasses of purified water per day - I probably do that or more only occasionally, on average, I probably drink about 8 or 9 glasses a day pretty easily. Just start out slow and work your way up over the span of a month or two - it's not really as big of a deal as it might sound.
It helps if you can get in the habit of keeping a bottle of water with you all the time - which for me is easy. Also, drinking a full glass or more 10-15 minutes before eating is a great habit to get into.
One thing to remember is that if you are going to drink a lot of water, steer clear of tap water and only drink purified or some type of filtered water.
