The story of Nutrasweet (Aspartame/poison) shows a lot about how much the FDA
cares about our health.  

Aspartame was rejected twice because it was considered to poisonous to put
into foods and drinks.  Then Donald Rumsfeld became president of Searle and
things changed.

Rumsfeld somehow changed the attitude of the FDA and Aspartame was approved.
Afterward, Rumsfeld offered a really good job at Searle to the head man at the FDA.
