If not Jesus himself, then any close follower of him, since such saints fasted much while they followed our Lord's example of fasting.
Fasting can be made into a habit. Eat a late lunch and early supper, nothing else. Once you start eating, you can get hungry again soon after. Don't bring food to work, use work and distractions to keep you mind off food. Eat smaller portions. Cutting out sugar really reduces food cravings. It only takes like 3 days to a week of doing this to reset you stomach to a new schedule and get it used to feeling satisfied with small portions.
Avoid sugar and carbs: no sweet tea, soft drinks, bread, pizza, pasta. Eat protein and healthy fats/oils. Fill up on salad. Just a little of the right toppings can add much flavor without adding too many calories, but moderation is key. Dressing like Zesty Italian, and some Shale Snacks (candied pecan, apple, cherry), feta cheese, and red Cherub tomatoes.
Cold showers, short ice baths, sitting out in the snow with minimal clothing is supposed to burn a lot of calories. Some people are really in to the cold stuff. Get active: go on hikes, bike rides, process firewood.
