  • Just got updated by a friend that if radiation from Japan keeps increasing and ends up along our Western coast. I guess according to current trade winds they are headed up Northern states and Southern B.C then up into Alberta. As a precautionary step you can purchase Iodine drops and a natural form of iodine is Kelp pills (seaweed) it costs very little and will stop any radio active iodine that will be floating through the air and absorbed by your body. Still need to research what all else can be done in the even of radiation coming our way. It helps to live in wooded areas.

One thing after another these days hard to keep up with it all.

  • Hopefully it won't come here. I live on the east coast so I guess I'm fine, but I'm concerned about you people on the west during that. They can't even cap off the radiation leak. And by now, it apparently is a bit more than just a leak.
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

  • The particles of radioactive material would have to catch the jet stream.

That means they'd have to be blown high into the atmosphere, not just carried by winds closer to ground level.

I don't think the jet stream is the same every day, or even present every day ( I might be wrong about that one )

But I do know the jet stream changes direction and has all sorts of dips and curlicues as it progresses.

While this is happening, the particles will be dissipating in strength, as well as falling into the ocean.

Plus, Japan is directly across from Alaska, not from California.  So the particles would have to catch all sorts of "flights" to get to California, changing from wind gust to wind gust.

Basically, if some junk reaches here, it will be dissipated, trace amounts, and you'd have that over the world.

  • I heard on the radio that we get more radiation from the sun or from a cross country flight or even a chest xray than the amount that folks in the western U.S. will possibly get, but that the large fish in the Pacific should be monitored for a few months for radiation levels. This was from a "nuclear expert" on Michael Savage.

  • One thing that I have learned during my conversion is you can't play guilt by association.

The devil mixes truth with lies.  He doesn't just lie.  This is what makes everything today so confusing, it is the exact strategy of the Modernists.

If he just lied, you could believe the opposite of what Ratzinger says and be a good Catholic.  But it's not like that.  He mixes orthodoxy with heresy.

So if you distrust Michael Savage, it doesn't mean everything said on the show was a lie.

I don't have a job, so I can spend all day reading.  I research each claim that is made.  You may hear a lot of people saying THIS IS WORSE THAN CHERNOBYL BECAUSE REACTOR # 3 USES PLUTONIUM.  One person said this would wipe out half the world.  This is ridiculous -- plutonium was also released from Chernobyl.  Fukushima will release more, but plutonium is not an automatic death sentence.  Also, nuclear bomb testing releases lots of plutonium.  I don't know how much.  But plutonium was scattered about when the military was testing bombs in Nevada and elsewhere, and this automatically disproves the hysterical idea that plutonium getting into the air is going to wipe out huge swathes of people thousands of miles away.  Of course, it's not good to be right next to the blast, but America isn't right next to the nuclear reactor.

I'm not even sure where this "west coast" business came from in the first place.  If it gets to us, surely it can travel a bit farther.  I'd say the whole world will probably end up with some nasty particles in the rivers and in the ground, but there are already many of these particles.

This situation is very, very bad, okay, I never said it wasn't.  It looks inevitable that all six reactors are going to explode.  I think Japan is doomed and the country is going to be wiped off the face of the Earth.  That is chilling enough in itself, and a mark, if any further marks were needed, that we are indeed in the end times. No one will laugh at that idea after an entire ancient nation has crumbled into ruins.

But this is not the way America is going to be taken down.  It may be a foreshadowing, but it's not even the beginning of our woes.

  • This may inadvertently be GOOD news for California.

Because of Fukushima, I think many will start clamoring for the reactor in Diablo's Canyon ( how's that for a name? ), that sits right on a fault line, to be deactivated.

I haven't been following this closely. Is this disaster really that bad? Wow. Of course, I hope you are wrong.

  • By "wiped off the face of the Earth" I don't mean the land, obviously.  I mean that Japan as we knew it will no longer exist, I think it is heading towards a post-apocalyptic scenario.

When you factor in the economic crisis this will lead to, the lack of food and water, and now -- almost surely -- six nuclear reactors exploding less than 200 miles from Tokyo, the situation doesn't look good.  The entire infrastructure is on the verge of collapsing.  To make things worse, some are saying there's going to be another massive earthquake.  Oh yeah, and a volcano exploded...

  • I'm reading about jet streams now and trying to get more information.  If the particles get into the jet stream, then it would be a good idea to stay indoors for two weeks after that, if you can, just to be on the safe side.

The good news is that the jet stream is FIVE TO EIGHT MILES up in the atmosphere.  No explosion that has yet occured has gotten particles into the jet stream. If and when the reactors blow up, and it looks more likely to be "when" than "if," then it's time to do some more research.

I'm no expert on how much velocity it would take to get particles of radioactivity shooting up for miles to get them into the jet stream, but it would seem to me that this is pretty unlikely, that if particles did get into the jet stream, they would be relatively few compared to those that have gotten into the normal winds around Fukushima, and those particles that did make it into the jet stream wouldn't necessarily make it to America, due to the dips and flurries of the jet stream, AND if they did the chances of you inhaling them are very slim... Not to mention that there are meltdowns and there are meltdowns, this may be only a partial meltdown, and it's impossible to get a real sense of what's going on.

There is very little risk to America, some crud will probably get here but not enough to be a major or even minor crisis.  That is how I see it at the moment.  Back to my readings.

  • Again, I point out that Japan is the THIRD LARGEST ECONOMY in the entire world.

This has to have a major effect on the global economy.

Don't ask where many of your PC components are made -- some of them were probably made with electricity generated by Fukushima nuclear reactors Dai-ichi, Dai-ni, Dai-san, Dai-yon, etc.

Yes, I realize that other places in Asia produce a lot of our PC components as well -- but let's put it this way: America has a "service" economy. Japan does not. Japan actually has a large industrial and manufacturing base. They actually MAKE things, most of which are exported out of the country.

All this is eerily reminiscient of Genesis where the inhabitants of the earth went about their ways until the day of the Deluge....

  • I have had that pre-deluge feeling for so long now, watching zombie-like people shuffling around in Target, looking at the spiritual void out there.

Still, when you see it really beginning, when you consider an ancient civilization is possibly on the verge of extinction...  "Many nations will be annihilated."  A concise and matter-of-fact statement to describe an incomprehensible truth.  We are living in the most epochal times since the death of Christ.
The human mind can't even come close to comprehending what we're living through or how big it really is, just like it can't comprehend the sacrifice of Christ except through a glass darkly.

  • I think this woman summed up the situation best before it even happened ( careful of the usual immodest videos that are linked on the right side of the page, this is YouTube ) --

There are tons of videos like this on YouTube, people just spazzing out in the streets of Japan.  It's like they're imitating death throes.

Wow, that's news!  The government built a nuclear reactor on a fault line?  The site of the BIG ONE???
