If you had to stay in your house for a few weeks or months, knowing that going "out" would result in serious sickness and/or death, what would you wish you had more of?
Write down those things on a piece of paper.
Now go secure transportation and buy them ASAP.
It's Sunday though -- Ok, that means you should make sure you go to Mass and say your daily Rosary, THEN go buy them ASAP.
Remember, the commandment to "Keep Holy the Lord's Day" prohibits UN-NECESSARY servile work. If your family needs food, you can buy it on Sunday. I'd say this falls under necessity.
Anyhow, for those who would let their ox or ass die in the pit (Luke 13:15), there's always Monday morning.
I'm serious!
With every passing day, your chance of getting infected by going to the store becomes greater. And the chance of grocery shelves being cleared out by people with more foresight than you becomes greater also.
It's worse than just exposing yourself to the virus. If you won't prep, trust me that A LOT OF PEOPLE WILL and they'll clean out the store shelves where you live. So either way, you better buy food/supplies while you still can.
COUNTLESS TIMES I've personally cleared out our local store of one item -- small cans of black olives, for example. Just buying 10 cans can decimate the store's stock! Ever heard of "just in time" ordering? Stores do this. They keep a 1 or 2 days' supply of everything -- 1 week supply if you're lucky.
So if a few people decide, "I want to buy 2 extra bags of flour", the store runs out in no time. Remember that.
Just a friendly warning from one Catholic to his brothers in Christ --
