  • Renowned allergist: Thousands are in mental institutions because of caffeine

“Thousands are in mental institutions today because of no greater matter than that of the use of caffeine. Psychiatrists are now publishing articles indicating that there are numerous cases of depression and anxiety in mental institutions who need no other treatment than to be taken off caffeine. It would seem that with such a simple remedy available, many thousands of people could be returned to their full usefulness promptly.

“However, the use of caffeine is so traditional and firmly entrenched that it is almost impossible to remove caffeinated drinks from the diet of patients in the mental institutions. Soft drink machines, coffee dispensers, and the traditional coffee break are common pastimes in mental institutions, and with those who are mentally ill at home.”

I thought for a moment that when they locked me up, they'd be taking my soda away.

  • It's really only coffee.  Coffee has a far more adverse effect on me than alcohol. ' Surprising you can drink one while driving and not the other.  Instantly after drinking a large cup of coffee, I'm filled with rage, I get impatient and antsy and shaky.

Drinks with less caffeine make me tired, strangely.  I have begun to notice that after drinking a cup of tea, I feel kind of moldy and tired.  I'm gradually phasing out my morning cups of tea and replacing them with clementine sparkling juice from Trader Joe's.

Coke has no adverse effect on me and I'll continue to drink it.  I doubt I'll ever be un-American enough to not drink Coke, alas.
Readers: Please IGNORE all my postings here. I was a recent convert and fell into errors, even heresy for which hopefully my ignorance excuses. These include rejecting the "rhythm method," rejecting the idea of "implicit faith," and being brieflfy quasi-Jansenist. I also posted occasions of sins and links to occasions of sin, not understanding the concept much at the time, so do not follow my links.

  • I see lots of kids drinking those super caffeine drinks like Jolt, Red Bull or Monster (literally makes them one). And they are already sleep deprived. The result I am sure is that they get psych labelled and end up on some poison or other.

I also think caffeine is reponsible for road rage.

  • I think that it's more likely that the most frequent cause of mental illnesses is mercury poisoning from the amalgam fillings or other heavy metal poisoning.

I also believe that some mental illnesses are simply a result of genetics.  Whether or not they could have been prevented from good nutrition is a subject that is certainly very intriguing.  Good nutrition could at least diminish some of the effects of mental illnesses.

Ya know, I have lots of those in my mouth from when I was a youngster, and I can't  say what I would be like if I didn't have those fillings, but I can't say it doesn't have an effect either. I don't consider myself unstable or insane, and those around me don't think so either, so... I guess it would depend largely on the individual here.

There is no doubt that mercury is toxic and has a terrible effect on the brain. I've actually toyed with the idea of having them removed, but when I saw the price tag to perform such a feat, I put the thought out of my mind immediately. I also heard getting them removed is often worse than leaving them in, as the mercury is released in vapor form for inhaling into the lungs as they're taken out.

Ugh. Thats similar to the effect of not wanting to workout/exercise because toxins are released by the fat cells decreasing in size and thus causing illness.

Every action has a reaction. right?

  • I'm hearing it's around $250 a tooth, which is WAY out of my price range. There's no way I would be able to afford to get them taken out.

Here's a good article on what must be done to get them properly removed so that you're not poisoned further in the process.

  • Wow, that article was written 6 years ago!  Interesting that the author thought all of his mercury fillings were out but the holistic dentist said that he (the author) still had mercury in his mouth.  Now I wonder how the holistic doctor knew that because the author apparently had his "silver" fillings removed.

    So my questions are:
Do some of the white fillings also contain mercury?
Did the holistic doctor just see a chance to make some $$?
Was there still mercury underneath the white fillings?
The article seems a bit short on info to answer my questions.
