was wondering if anyone has had any experience with Keto diet and maybe some recipes for large family that won't break the budget
My experience with semi-Keto on a budget and cooking for my husband who is not Keto is this.
I say semi-keto because hard core Keto downplays or ignores veggies, which are most of what I eat. Some even grind up pork rinds to use as flour -- ick.
I prepare a meal with a protein like meat, poultry or fish cooked with seasoning and veggies. I prepare another veggie or two. I prepare either potatoes or rice which he loves and I do not eat. I may make him gravy which I also do not eat. No desserts for me except on Sunday when I bake something he likes.
Intermitent fasting is often used along with Keto, that is, eating in a window of 6 or 8 or so hours. i.e. Last meal at 6 p.m. First meal at 10 a.m. or noon. Lots of water.
Also nuts, seeds, healthy fats incorporated into salads.
