  • At the Jerusalem Synod, the Church declared Her independency of the Jєωιѕн laws (except for fundamental ones like the Decalogue), so it is permissible to eat pork, pelican, etc. that was on the black list.
But the 1962 Masonic plan says:
    Quote
Eliminate all penitential exercises such as not eating meat on Fridays and in the Lent. Prevent any abstintence. Substitute them with good deeds, joy and charity towards neigbours is endorsed. Say to the people that Christ have earned salvation for all on the Cross and all deeds of the flesh are unneccessary and can be a sign of weak faith. Say that they must care of their health. Encourage eating of meat, especially pork.

So if the Masons want to feed pork in order to crumble reverence to God in our souls, then it can be dangerous. I stopped eating pork when I left my NO faith. The question is:
    - Is pork dangerous, according to what the Masonic plan says?
    - And should a Trad go kosher in protest against the Masons?

  • They just wanted to eliminate not eating meat on Friday and in abstinance. There's nothing wrong with meat - or pork - itself.

  • But if Masons encourage eating pork instead of fasting, then it can mean something irreverent.

  • It's only wrong to eat when you're supposed to be fasting.

  • Pulled pork, bacon, and sausage are good. Just not on Friday's and Wednesday's in Lent. I can't keep all the fasting rules straight. Meat on Wednesday's in Lent might be okay.

Lobster, cat fish, and king crab legs, soft shell crab, and octopus are good also. Oysters and shrimp are not doing so well in the apocalypse after BP.

    Carthusians don't eat meat.

It's always good to fast because food can dominate the mind and the body, and strange spirits and bolgiatis can develop because of gluttony.

  • Dear Pelly, Masons run homes for the aged, but that does not mean running homes for the aged is a bad thing.

So if Masons say "eat pork" that doesn't make eating pork a bad thing.

We Catholics don't eat ANY meat on Ash Wednesday or on Fridays. If you love pork you might want to give up pork for Lent. The same goes for peanut butter. Give up something you really enjoy.

But don't be kosher. Kosher is for Jєωs, not Catholics.

  • You would do better to cease dabbling in masonic stuff than to cease eating pork. The former could poison you.

  • The main worry with pork is a parasite which causes trichinosis.  Be sure to cook your pork to the proper temperature.  Get a good cooking thermometer and be sure to use it with pork and chicken especially.  Chicken has its own harmful bacteria.  You don't want any "pink" meat in pork or chicken.  If you've cooked a pork roast and slice it and it's pink somewhere, zap the slices in the microwave before you eat them until the pink is gone.  Same for chicken.  I also do it for turkey.  These parasites and bacteria can make you seriously ill.

Trichinosis used to be more prevealent than it is now due to better sanitation in farming and production but don't take chances.  Don't ever eat pink meat except for beef if you prefer it that way, but you're still taking chances when anything is pink or bloody.
