Many people struggle with this sin and might not realize it. We see many people ( including clergy and religious who are overweight. Even thin people can be gluttons.
Many of us need to limit portions.
We need to eat healthier real food instead of processed junk. ( I have seen families buying sugary cereals and junk food for their children.) oatmeal with fresh berries and nuts. ( If attending a later Mass and traveling far, Feed your family before Mass. ) Cheerios is processed and endorses those in mortal sin. There should be no eating food during Mass.
Try Eating more meals at home.
Eat farm fresh vegetables and fruit as dessert as in the past. Use nut flours, spelt, rye. Fresh local grass meat, fish and chicken in smaller portions. Have a your own garden. If you live in city, grow veggies in pots or go to Whole Foods.
Normal plate size 8 1/2 and use smaller flatware.
Prayer and fasting is needed to be restored.
