Title: Symptomatic and Asymptomatic
Post by: Last Tradhican on September 13, 2021, 10:42:19 AM
This asymptomatic and symptomatic media newspeak goes in one ear and out the other with me. To me it is just the same dung in different packing as Pro-life and Pro-choice was, terms which I have never gotten accustomed to and do not use because I confuse one with the other. I just use abortionist or baby killers, and anti-abortionist, anti-baby killing.

With this symptomatic, asymptomatic, I will no longer use them, it will just be:

Instead of  asymptomatic, I will use  -  they got corona and it had absolutely no effect on them.
Instead of symptomatic - they got corona and had mild symptoms, no big deal, almost like nothing, all the way to being hospitalized or dead (and they'll have to explain what level they are talking about)

The anti has some psychological weight - those who are "anti"-something will automatically be regarded as something bad by many simple minds. I think pro-life is a good term for us, we want to protect life, we are for life, we are against abortion, against killing babies. Abortionists are anti-life, for choice of life or death for a defenseless unborn child, so they had to rebrand themselves as "pro-choice" to have a less aggressive label.
