suffering badly from tinnitus

  • $0 years ago I got tinnitus. For 5 years I lived in my ears. Then, thanks to a plea to St Philomena to help, I managed to put it out of my mind and lived a normal life. My wife died 16 months ago. I cannot describe the loss this has had on me. For the last month the tinnitus returned, especially to my right ear, a screaming sound that never stops. Last Sunday I lit a candle after Mass in front of St Joseph, St Philomena and Our Lady asking their help. Believe it or not it went away for the whole Sunday but came back after that. I recall once when free of it finding a man who investigated tinnitus and found a cure for it with certain ingredients. You know the websites, they take you through an hour telling you how they did it and offered the cure at the end. I wish I could find that site now. Has anybody got any advice that might help. I am undergoing the worst, loudest hissing noise in my ear now, and It is beginning to get the better of me. It never st ops, does anyone know anything that might ease the noise. You see how desperate I am, having to write this post. Many thanks.

Natural help for relieving and treating tinnitus

(NewsTarget) Fifteen million people in the United States are estimated to suffer from tinnitus - which is the perception of a noise sensation in one or both ears without any actual noise source being present. The perceived noise can be ringing, chirping, roaring, or humming. In many instances, tinnitus can be either eliminated or greatly relieved through changes in diet and lifestyle as well as with nutritional supplementation and herbal remedies.

Tinnitus is a little understood condition and, while many causes have been suggested, there is no general agreement in medical circles on the causes and treatments in medical circles. Inflammation and poor blood flow are considered to be among the primary culprits. Other causes which have been identified or suggested include: wax buildup, fluid in the ear, spongy bone growth in the inner ear (otoslcerosis), low blood pressure, high blood pressure, and a breach of the eardrum.

One of the best ways to help improve circulation and prevent inflammation is getting plenty of healthy physical activity, including moderate exercise. In addition to physical activity, a good plan for relieving and possibly eliminating tinnitus is to eat a healthy diet and take supplements which help reduce inflammation and improve circulation.

An anti-tinnitus diet should be a mostly high protein, nutrient dense diet which includes lots of fresh raw fruits and vegetables. Use healthy items such as coconut, olive oil, grass-fed meat, free range eggs, avocados, nuts/seeds, and non-starchy vegetables as primary fuels every day.

Food items which reduce and protect against inflammation include nutrient and phytonutrient dense fruits & vegetables, healthy fats, and grass-fed/free-range animal products. Choose fruits which are mostly low-sugar and rich in anti-oxidants. Examples include berries, lemons/limes, & grapefruits.

Some of the best meats are non-farmed cold water fish (especially salmon), free range organic chicken, turkey, beef and bison. Do not consume processed meats or meat from animals subject to unhealthy and inhumane feed lot practices. Raw organic goat milk is an excellent nutrient dense food which usually does not have inflammatory properties found in other dairy products.

Herbs which are noted for their anti-inflammatory properties include:

    *turmeric
    *ginger
    *dandelion
    *oregano
    *garlic
    *green tea.

Foods that can aggravate tinnitus are saturated fats, dairy products, sugar, salt, processed foods, junk foods, and fast foods. Avoid coffee, tea, sweets, and alcohol, as these foods can result in low blood sugar.

B vitamins help reduce and prevent inflammation. Vitamin B12 is considered to be essential for combating tinnitus because it is essential for the formation of the myelin sheaths that surround and protect nerve fibers. B12 deficiency can make nerves more susceptible to inflammatory damage. Healthy meats are good sources of B12 and other B vitamins.

As reported by Natural News, the supplement pycnogenol has been shown to be effective against tinnitus for many people. See:

    https://www.naturalnews.com/030042_pine_bark_...

Among other beneficial properties, pycnogenol is a powerful anti-oxidant. Anti-oxidants limit free radical damage and the inflammation which such damage can cause. Other powerful anti-oxidant items which have shown powerful effects at enhancing blood supply to the inner ear and reversing symptoms of tinnitus are: grape seed extract, resveratrol, and bilberry.

Other items which can help reduce inflammation, enhance circulation and help treat tinnitus include:

    *vitamin E
    *zinc
    *choline
    *EPA
    *DHA
    *GLA
*ginko biloba (especially when applied as ear drops)
*maidenhair tree extract (applied as ear drops)

Melatonin has been reported in at least one study to help improve tinnitus symptoms and provide better sleep.

Note: Use digestive enzymes and apple cider vinegar to enhance the absorption of proteins, vitamins, minerals and other nutrients and supplements.

  • When I got tinnitus,it was based on my nerves. The stress can trigger it.The more you concentrate on the sound the worse it will be.You can help yourself by listening on YouTube sounds of forest, running water, birds chirping etc to mask the sound, and get your mind away from it.But it's better to go to the doctor first and get diagnosed correctly.

  • NAC might be helpful, even if it doesnt help with tinnitus, it's great for a whole lot of other things, such as liver health, breakdown of biofilm and mucus,  and boosts athletic performance.  It is definitely on the top 5 of supplements.

Here is a study showing it improves outcomes from hearing damage.

  • I'm sorry to hear about your wife's death. It must be a very difficult and stressful time no matter how long it has been. I pray that your tinnitus issue will be resolved soon. I will remember you in my prayers today.

The link below is to a video on Youtube of a doctor that explains how cervical issues may also cause symptoms such as tinnitus. Someone recently shared this video with me and sounds like it may be helpful to you too. So if you have neck problems this video may help explain how tinnitus and neck issues are related. It could at least give you an understanding of the root cause and lead you to take further steps in your recovery.

  • So sorry for you. It must be awful. Just curious, sometimes diabetes, hyperinsulinemia are related to tinnitus. Are you diabetic (type ll)?

Have you had a good spinal realignment from the chiropractor?  If not, give it a try, preferably one who uses the Y-strap.  The ears are connected to the head, neck, jaw, shoulders and upper back.  That’s where tension and stress are stored.  Getting these treated often resolves ear, mouth, and sinus issues.

  • Tinnitus can be exacerbated by high blood pressure. Cut out all added sugars and saturated fats from you diet.

  • I have had a mild case of tinnitus for several years, I suspect it may have been caused from loose-fitting ear protection one time at the range.  I really don't think about it all that much.  I also have chronic fullness in my left ear that may be related to it.  The trigerminal nerve in my face gets infected (or something), and sometimes I feel like I have little bits of tape or glue on my face, a certain numbness.

All of this is an annoyance, but I've learned to live with it.  I've been CAT scanned and have even undergone an MRI, and they can't find anything wrong to cause it.  Nothing to be done for it, but when the trigerminal nerve flares up, a couple of aspirin tablets helps a bit.  It comes and goes.

  • Many, many thanks to you all for your prayers, help and advice. I have an appointment with the doctor tomorrow to have tests to see if anything wrong could be adding to the problem. I am trying many of the exercises. Hopefully the slight easing this morning will last. God bless you all.
