  • New Study Reveals what a single Diet Soda Does

    Dear Reader,

Being healthy and looking good is a big priority for many of us. That’s often why we reach for a “diet” soda when we’re feeling thirsty. Diet sodas are marketed as healthy, low-calorie options. But the truth about these drinks is SHOCKING.

If you consume soda regularly or even have one once in a while, or know anyone who does, then this is affecting you directly.

A shocking report PROVES that Big Soda companies are handing out millions of dollars to the government to cover up the deadly health effects caused by their sugary drinks.

People who drink diet sodas have been associated with an increased risk of metabolic syndrome and with higher rates of Type 2 diabetes, fatty liver disease, insulin resistance, and cardiovascular difficulties.

Many people think that if they have a diet soda once in a while, they may not be affected by the dangerous health consequences, which may not be true.

Just last year, the Big Soda corporations paid over $1.3 million to the government to keep this a secret.

It’s a fact – adults who drink diet soda have a 67% increase in risk for type 2 diabetes. And yet, the government and Big Soda lobbyists market these deadly drinks as “health food!”

Statistics show that over 150 million Americans drink soda every day. But most people are not aware of the dangerous health effects that these drinks can cause. Research suggests that high-fructose corn syrup, the sweetener used in most soda, is associated with increased body fat. This is because high fructose corn syrup is absorbed more rapidly than regular sugar, which can prevent your body from triggering its signals for being full. And when your body doesn’t know you are full, it may lead to over-eating. If you have experienced these unstoppable food cravings, it could be because of the soda you’re drinking.

And researchers are now saying that high fructose corn syrup, especially the kind found in diet soda, could be just as addictive as cocaine! So if you’ve been trying to quit soda or sweets but found it nearly impossible, the real culprit could be a sugar addiction caused by these diet sodas.

The Big Soda conglomerates don’t want you to know any of this information. That’s why they spend millions of dollars every year making sure their drinks are sold as “healthy” options.

Ok, I'll admit that REGULAR sodas aren't health food either, and perhaps they are addictive, and quite a health problem in their own right.

But this particular quote (above) sounds quite foolish, since diet sodas don't have a SINGLE DROP of high fructose corn syrup!

    Sodas either have
    A) aspartame (in the case of most diet sodas) which metabolizes into various neurotoxins, and functions well as ant poison.
    B) high fructose corn syrup (the vast majority of regular sodas, since it's cheaper than sugar
    C) "pure cane sugar"
    D) a trace of sugar and some Stevia extract, in certain rare cases (for example, a certain store-brand sparkling water that I happen to drink)
    E) Splenda, a more recent artificial sweetner whose evil side effects aren't known yet. ;)

  • It is undeniable that soda is not a healthy beverage.  However, this article has so much wrong with it, it is worthless.  Chief among its problems, as Matthew pointed out, is that diet sodas do NOT contain high fructose corn syrup.  That's really the whole point of diet sodas; they contain artificial sweeteners that are low-calorie or calorie-free rather than high fructose corn syrup or sugar, which are high in calories.

Given this major error, the rest of the article cannot be trusted and should be ignored.
