Sounds like an "clean " eating diet.  So eat whole foods, real foods.

Why the compulsion to use this particular regime (the GAPS diet) which seems to be a one-man show and a money spinner?

There are other sources out there. Like this:

Quote from: Viva Cristo Rey
I lost weight.  If God didn't make it try not to eat it.
Gluttony is sin.  Eat veggies and fruits and protein.  I like to juice.  Limit bread.  No sodas at all.
Sip on green or white green tea.  Also. Get moving everyday. Get walking.   Biking or go to gym.
Go hiking at state parks with your children and pray the rosary while you hike    Play with children at playground.

Drink water.  A lot of time hunger is really thirst.
Go to confession.   Father, I over ate two times as example

Use my fitness pal.   Calories to 1,300.  Watch salt and sugar too

Children should eat healthy diets. No Cheerios at church because you are teaching the child inorder to behave the reward is food. If you make food everyone should eat.
No chicken nuggets or kraft macaroni and cheese.

I like kind bars and larabars.  I use hemp powder whey powder nuts wheat grass powder in smoothies.

Note to myself bring your own food as sides to picnic to avoid eating junk

And have a small slice of pecan pie but excercise it off.
My fitness  pal is excellent.

I also love seaweed snacks.

Yes it clean.  I call it if God didn't make it don't eat diet.
The Catholic. Diet.

Include one St ignatious silent retreat too.
