My dad used it directly on the shingles and his was Zostrix-H  there was no P in the name 20 years ago.
There was also a plain Zostrix which didn't work.  This was 20 years ago.
You also had to wear gloves when applying it.
The first Shingles vaccine came out in 2006, so that cream may have gone out of production at that time.

Evidently, shingles is a sort of a resurgence of chicken pox.  If you never had chicken pox you're not supposed to be able to get shingles.  My doctor has recommended a shingles ναccιnє for years.  Officially, about 25% of people who had chicken pox will get shingles during their lives.  I've known several people who have had shingles.  All of them told me that they got a terribly painful rash, mostly on their abdomens, and it lasted a little over a week.  The nurse at the doctor's office says it's really not a life threatening problem--just very painful.

This past year has completely undermined the little confidence I had with the medical profession about anything that is "preventative".  It seems that they can fix certain things, but they are constantly trying to inject everyone to prevent everything and I really do think that there are other agendas involved.  And, frankly, I think anyone who can read what the computer screen tells the doctor to do could be a doctor today because I don't think most of them really know anything.  They just repeat what the computer tells them.

I've not had this ναccιnє nor will I get it.  If I get shingles, I would hope to be able to apply the suffering for the poor souls in purgatory.
I have had that before on my stomach.  I remember soaking in tub with Epsom salts. It eventually went away.

I had chicken pox when we were little.  It was painful and itchy. Nowadays, they give children chicken pox vaccine.  Everyone is being over medicated...

This is not surprising. My husband got it immєdιαtely after our dog was attacked by another dog, and died from the attack. My husband was walking our dog in the early morning and he had literally to drag our dog home as he was too large to carry and nobody to help. It was so distressing for him. that he came down with shingles.
That is terrible. So sad.

It's not all or nothing.
It's do a lot of research and pick and choose.
You sound young. When I was young and grew my own organic veggies, yada yada, the supps worked great.
Things change when you get older (for me it was going hiking and getting Lyme disease). God does sometimes use doctors and medicine to help us. As my acupunturist says "Thank you Lord."

You sound uninformed and ignorant.
I have a Master of Science in Health.
I was been the subject of two physiological studies in graduate school, due to my fitness prowess to perform the tasks and the willingness to man up to it.
I know a lot more about physiology, health, virology, infectious disease, disease pathology, etc. than you.
In fact, I've probably forgotten more than you will ever know in your lifetime.
