Idiot. Sugar is PH NEUTRAL. It doesn't cause tooth decay. Also. the sodium bicarbonate and/or phosphorus in sodas and even carbonated water are acidic, hence, the cause tooth decay. Sugar doesn't cause it. You're supposed to have oral hygiene regardless of your diet. You lose. Truth wins.
What truth wins? I think you lose. Sodium bicarbonate is an acid neutralizer with a ph of 9, and isn't found in most sodas as far as I know.
Sugar absolutely leads to tooth decay since bacteria feeds all the more easily on it, which produces acid that weakens teeth. I have to take much more care of my mouth after carbs and sweets than meat and oil. I could easily go days without brushing eating meat, but notice plaque accuмulation just hours or minutes after having carbs or sweets.
