Refined sugar is a much better alternative (and much less processed) than high fructose corn syrup, which is in everything and which destroys your pancreas. 

Plant oils, seed oils, fried foods, pesticides in produce, cereals, MSG, diet drinks, sugar alternatives and preservatives, — these things are far, FAR more damaging to the body than refined sugar. 

At least sugar is a natural product, from the cane plant.  It’s been somewhat processed to remove the nutrients but it’s still from nature.  All the things listed above are chemical-based and will slowly kill you.

no doubt the listed forms of carbs are worse than refined sugar but that doesn't make refined sugar any better, or better than fat and protein


and refined sugar may be natural but so is pot, doesn't make it any better.

Sugar/carbs ARE better for high-endurance activities.  Arguing otherwise is just idiotic.  Fats/proteins take HOURS to digest and get the body fuel.  Carbs give instant fuel.  One is not better than the others.  You need all 3.  WHEN/How much you need, depends on the activity.

Have you looked at the research of tim noakes, he proved that you dont need carbs for athelic training, also explosove movements use creatine but that sonly for sprinting,carbs give instant fel for a bit until they drop, ketones give you constant energy AND they can come from your own body fat if you run out of fuel so you wont run out.

Sugar is obvious but only trans fats are bad and the anti salt campaign has been debunked by Dr Ken berry et al
