  • I’m intrigued by the subtle genetic differences that make all redheads different from 98% of the population. But beyond the fair skin and tendency to freckle, there are a few other interesting skin-related differences that set them apart.

  • I have also heard, from redheads, that they have more pregnancy complications and more difficult labor and deliveries.

Actually, they just complain about things more.

    As an Irish-American, I concur. :laugh1:
"This principle is most certain: The non-Christian cannot in any way be Pope. The reason for this is that he cannot be head of what he is not a member. Now, he who is not a Christian is not a member of the Church, and a manifest heretic is not a Christian, as is clearly taught by St. Cyprian, St. Athanasius, St. Augustine, St. Jerome, and others. Therefore, the manifest heretic cannot be Pope." -- St. Robert Bellarmine

  • I find color genetics fascinating, whether in humans or animals.  It's also very interesting to note how certain genes/alleles are linked to other traits.

I have always wondered what controls the depth of pigment in hair/wool.  Obviously individuals will vary, sometimes tremendously- but I've also noticed changes from year to year that have absolutely nothing to do with the sun- like a ewe of mine that was silvery gray and is now a dark charcoal.  Usually it happens the other way around!
The good shepherd giveth his life for his sheep.  But the hireling, and he that is not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and flieth, and the wolf catcheth, and scattereth the sheep.  A

A work colleague had many rounds of radiation and chemo for stage 3 breast cancer.  When her formerly dirty blond hair grew back in, it was much coarser and dark black. This was in 1996 at age 31 .  Now, it mostly remains black, but has distinct stripes of gray.
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

  • I've heard of a lot of things being attributed to red hair, but every time I have looked for research on the topic, studies found no measurable difference. Seems to me it's just another one of those things that people like to associate with trouble, like a full moon, or a certain date, etc.
