  • Mom Arrested at Playground Amid COVID Speaks Out

    Monday, 08 June 2020

In this exclusive interview with The New American, Idaho mother Sara Brady talks about her arrest at a play date at a public park amid government lockdown orders that many critics view as unconstitutional. Brady, who is married to a police officer, is now being prosecuted by the state Attorney General's office on a "trespassing" charge. However, she is speaking out, and many members of her community are rallying around her. The incredible case has sparked nationwide outrage and debate about the limits of government power and the constitutionality of these decrees by mayors and governors acting as little dictators.

  • I was sympathetic until the video showed her asking to be arrested.

On the other hand, I don't see how a trespassing charge can hold for a park that wasn't closed or without clear notice that some part of the park was closed. The charge should be dismissed eventually.

She seemed to regret that herself when, in the interview, she said she acted on the spur of the moment.
That happens to most of us when confronted with an immediate situation.   We need time to sort things
out and separate defensive reactions from considered responses.   Her website does that.
