So my mom is freshly over covid, and complaining that she has an insatiable/unquenchable thirst and the roof of her mouth is white.
I was surprised to learn this is not an uncommon post-covid (and sometimes pre-covid) symptom.
Anyone know of a cure, or how long it lasts?
She can’t go an hour without drinking water now.
-
She must be dehydrated. She should drink pure water though, not adulterated with chemicals like fluoride, chlorine.
-
White mouth sounds like a fungal/yeast infection.
-
Did she have the shot? Some who did are developing diabetes.
-
Why ask the mob? Why not get her to a doctor who can check her? There are trustworthy ones to consult.

Because competent medical doctors are few and far between.

As if the mob is a better source for reliable quality medical care?

No shot

Can you recommend one? We don’t know any trustworthy ones.
-
Yes, I can recommend some near me, but what are the odds that you live near enough.
Ask people you trust for recommendations.

If you don't know a trustworthy doctor, ask an ER nurse.
They see not only the docs working in their ER, but get a good look at the responsiveness, demeanor and care of the docs who take "call," so have a pretty good eye for the good docs.
One caveat—whether urban or rural, ER nurses typically common things, so they do not have the training or experience in identifying or treating the exceptional cases. Sure, they see some "one off" sensational and weird cases (like the guys that put lightbulbs where they don't belong), but that does not translate into the acuмen necessary to handle the "sleeper" cases that require speedy insight and special handling (e.g., back pain that is a dissecting aneurysm, not the usual narcotic seekers complaining of back pain).

Water doesn't cure thrush.
-
Does she ever wear a *mask*?
That might cause issues with bacteria, yeast in the mouth. There's bound to be an epidemic -- pun intended -- of such problems with widespread adoption of a new custom like mask-wearing, with ZERO experience or history. No one in your family can tell you how to avoid mask mouth, etc. since they are new to wearing masks themselves. EVERYONE is new to wearing masks. It may be "what we do now" or "who we are now" (UGH!) like the Hijab in Muslim countries -- but that doesn't mean we have any experience overcoming its side effects. Because it most certainly WASN'T "who we are" just 2 years ago.

according to WebMD, without knowing much else other what what you have said, she has HIV, candidiasis, or thrush.
this is my go-to natural healing website: earthclinic.com
they say milk of magnesia for adult thrush.
for candida, multiple remedy suggestions:
https://www.earthclinic.com/mobile/cures/candida-most-popular.html
candida is difficult to cure. usually super low carb diet does the trick.
your mother may also have an electrolyte imbalance and is not absorbing her water properly. adding electrolytes to her diet may balance itself out, but seeing a doctor is probably her best course of action. try talking to the people at church and see who they recommend, then do your due diligence to research and even interview the doctor. as an adult, I have interviewed every doctor I have ever gone to.

please read before posting.

Duh. I did read the title. She is post covid. Covid will dehydrate you. I know. I have had it.

Sometimes antibiotics from the doctors can make one sicker and they end up in hospital. We didn’t go to the doctors when we were sick.
For some people like my husband, he was sick for a couple of days or like me it took me several months to recover.
Drinking plenty of water and tea helped.

Sometimes antibiotics from the doctors can make one sicker and they end up in hospital. …
With BILLIONS of antibiotic doses taken annually, what happens more often? Good outcome? or bad outcome?
Sometimes people get killed in car crashes. Sometimes pedestrians get run over and killed. Should that keep people from going to the grocery store?

Call the FLCCC doctors:
Below is a real world experience of someone I know that contracted Corona Virus. Observe the difference between what his family doctor prescribed “take a multivitamin”, and the FLCCC doctors prescriptions and the speed in which they were delivered. The FLCCC doctor Home - FLCCC | Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance (covid19criticalcare.com) (http://home - flccc | front line covid-19 critical care alliance (covid19criticalcare.com)/) was in another city and the pharmacy in the same city as the sick person and the prescriptions were delivered in 1:30 hours after he hung up with the doctor. The sick person had never taken any of the vaccines.
On Monday, November 15th, the process went like this:
10am – called my family doctor, the nurse said to just take a multivitamin and Zinc.
11:00 - Scheduled my appointment with FLCCC for 1:10 PM
1:10 - Had the scheduled appointment, lasted about 15 minutes and was told the medicine that would be prescribed which was Ivermectin, Z-Pack, and Prednisone, the pharmacist would be calling me to arrange delivery and answer questions
2:45 - pharmacist called and was very helpful and went through all the meds, told me they would be delivered within 30 minutes
3:15 - medicine arrived at my front door, I took the medicine when it arrived
5:30 - started to feel much better and has been improving daily. That night I slept like a baby, the first time in 8 days!
Total cost for the above doctor's video phone examination and prescriptions delivered to sick person's his door $260.
It couldn't be any simpler!

Maybe medical marijuana can help.

:laugh1:
:laugh1: I was going to bug you about it on another thread, but decided against it lest another poster come and jump on me for trying to imply that I was promoting that, too. (Roll eyes). But since you brought it up, it's fair game :-)
I am actually surprised at the title of the thread here--I thought you and I were the only 2 non-Covid deniers here. Who knew? :laugh1:

She needs a check-up with a Dr.
There are a number of possible things this could be, but without seeing her or her history, it is like shooting darts in the dark.
First thing that comes instantly to mind with her "white mouth" is thrush. Next thing that comes to mind is diabetes because of her thirst.
Get her to a Doctor for a check-up, asap please. You wouldn't want your Mom to end up with more problems because of either situation, and we don't know how old your Mom is either. If she is elderly, they end up with different issues because of Covid.
Go see a Dr.

LT, there is something wrong with your link above.
I knew about their protocol, etc, but I did not realize that the Frontline doctors had "appointments". Good to know.

The doctor my friend used came from the list at COVID-19 Care Providers - FLCCC | Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance (covid19criticalcare.com) (https://covid19criticalcare.com/ivermectin-in-covid-19/covid-19-care-providers/) The doctor he chose below from the FLCCC list was recommended by someone else who also used him. There are many other doctors on the FLCCC list in other states and cities.
