I have a real good view of the fire. The wind has died down somewhat but I DO NOT SEE EVEN ONE FIRE FIGHTING AIRCRAFT IN THE AIR
-
From what I read online, there isn't any water available (and they won't use ocean water).
Plus, they're probably using the aircraft for chemtrails.

(and they won't use ocean water).
Interesting. Why is this?

I just talked to a fireman near LAX & he indicated that Ocean water CAN be used.
-
I presume ocean water can be used and the ocean is right there. But I've read several articles and every one that mentions water complains that the reservoirs haven't been filled so there is no water available to put on the fire. I'm sure there's some environmental issue that the wackos out in California don't want to put salt water on the ground.
It just seems that they simply won't use the ocean water to try to put out the fire.

Roscoe, we are praying for you. If you can see the fire, that’s not good.
Sky news interviewed one man who said that there was zero fire trucks in Malibu.

Even if salt water is less than optimal (possibly because of the effect it has on the equipment?), common sense would tell me to go ahead and use it. You can always buy new equipment.
I'd like to see the environmentalists go to the people whose property is affected by the fires, and let them explain why it wasn't a good idea to use salt water. I can't imagine that the most "woke" property owner would say, "yes, my house burned to the ground, but at least you didn't use salt water".

Existential Crisis in Environmental and Climate Stupidity
...
Notes From X
Official Leftist Translator @tony4mrht: What you call climate change others might call lack of preparation. California legislated over $7 billion for water storage in 2014 and NOTHING has been built.
Michael Shellenberger @shellenberger: Climate change or no climate change, scientists say somewhere between 500,000 and 4M acres of forest land need to burn annually in California. Doing that requires moving beyond the pyrophobia, alarmism, and politicization that got us into this mess in the first place.
“Climate dries the [wood] fuels out & extends the fire season BUT IT’S NOT THE CAUSE OF THE INTENSITY of the fires. The cause of that is fire suppression and the existing debt of wood fuel.” Malcolm North, US Forest Service
Kyle Becker @kylenabecker: Link to a short video on climate change vs fire suppression as a cause.
Eric Daugherty @EricLDaugh: Just before devastating wildfires broke out in the Los Angeles area, the Democratic LA Mayor – Karen Bass – SLASHED fire department funding by $17.6 million.
Steve Guest @SteveGuest: Reality check. As Pacific Palisades burns, fighterfighters report hydrants running dry.
Liz Churchill @liz_churchill10: The LA Mayor is in Africa…as she spent their tax dollars funding Fire Departments in Ukraine. There was no water to put out these fires…and California is next to an ocean. Californians had their home insurance cancelled PRIOR to these fires.
Geiger Capital @Geiger_Capital: “This is like a third world country… there is no water coming out of the fire hydrants. LA Mayor Karen Bass is on a foreign trip to Ghana.” Click link for a video.

I've finally seen an explanation as to why they are not using aircraft. The reports are that helicopters and even fixed wing aircraft cannot fly in the area due to high winds.

DEI in action, working as planned.
Nah, they're just blaming this on DEI ... just like they blamed the junk they perpetrated the last 4 years on Biden. They put people like that in place since they're a distraction from the real culprits behind the curtain.
Evidence is overwhelming that these fires were the result of DEW, directed energy weapons ... as there are large areas where every house is burned to the ground while the trees practically next to them are untouched, where cars are instantly being oxidized (rust color), etc. ... just like in MAUI. In addition, many have reported that just a few months ago, one of the largest insurers cancelled all the fire insurance on homes in those neighborhoods (a company obviously with connections to whoever is perpetrating these crimes).
Now even the mainstream are saying it was "arson" ... and we'll have to see who they pin it on. We might see some Iranian passports somehow magically surviving the inferno.

Sounds right. But the DEI in action I was referring to are the ones who are supposed to have ability, the ability to deal effectively with this situation, instead, the ones in charge that people are depending on look like they are a bunch of completely lost and totally ignorant fools. It would really be totally hilarious if it wasn't such a tragedy.

I think about this sort of thing a lot -- why do liberals not see the consequences of their errors? Environmentalists having their house burned down, liberals getting mugged by criminals that they don't want to put in prison or put to death, and things like this. I think the problem is that in a democracy it's the majority rule, and the people that suffer the consequences of liberal errors, even catastrophic consequences like having your house get burned down, or your child kidnapped by an illegal alien, or getting mugged by a murderer that the liberal "justice system" let out of prison, are a relatively small number and can't change voting to any real degree.
Now, as far as major cities like New York City where everyone votes for politicians who enact this sort of thing and everyone is afraid to walk the streets at night, that really puzzles me because everyone suffers to some degree but nobody wants to vote differently.
-
I wonder how drones are flying around up in those high winds.
Just three points. 1) It’s one matter for a drone to crash into a fire, and quite another for a manned aircraft to do so.
2) Most of the fires are located at a substantial distance from the ocean. Reservoirs are closer and have the necessary access and equipment to fill fire engines and aircraft. The ocean lacks these things.
3) Were the fires planned by the govt. and caused by DEW? Probably not. Could the govt. be taking advantage of them and using DEW? Probably so. Have a look at the aerial photos of residential neighborhoods.
:pray:For the people caught up in these fires and for the souls of those already killed.

Does anybody know if the chapel that Mel Gibson built near his home in Agoura Hills has sustained any damage from the fires?
-
It's certainly DEW fires and a land grab. They are clearing prime land for themselves. Reapportioned land maps were leaked years ago for wine country showing condensed all-inclusive controlled cities pre-fire that matched what burned. Maui fires followed. Now the best properties of LA will be returned to the big money. Rebuilding will be a nightmare for most people afterwards with impossible restrictions, high insurance costs and size limitations. Eventually, the NWO intends to "rise like the Phoenix" from the ashes totally in control. Maybe this is part of the prophecy that "fire will fall from the sky".

A Midwestern Doctor from The Forgotten Side of Medicine<amidwesterndoctor@substack.com
https://www.midwesterndoctor.com/ (https://www.midwesterndoctor.com/)
Essentially, due to California's climate, wildfires are a regular issue. However rather than adopting policies which can prevent these fires from becoming catastrophic (e.g., controlled burns, forestry management, making sure communities have sufficient firefighting water infrastructure or fixing the power lines) more and more money has gone into suppressing the wildfires (which in turn has caused the subsequent ones to burn even hotter).
As such, devastating fires are becoming more and more common, but despite an uproar each time for steps to be taken so the next one does not create profound devastation, nothing gets done and a worse one follows (while spending on wildfire fighting services continue to spiral out of control).
For instance, journalists in the last 24 hours highlighted that:
•Many of the affected communities ran out of water to fight these fires (e.g., the fire hydrants went dry).
•Planned controlled burns had been cancelled.
•Power lines were not de-energized.
•In 2014, a proposition set aside billions develop a water infrastructure for California, yet despite repeated pushes to do so (e.g., from the Trump administration), nothing was ever developed.
•Many home insurance plans in California were recently cancelled due to California enacting laws that capped the prices insurers could charge (hence making it unaffordable for them to offer coverage and insurers simply leaving the state). As a result, many of the homes which burn down likely will not be covered and simultaneously, California's much more costly state insurance program may collapse from the costs of these fires.
•Los Angeles recently made large cuts to the firefighting services to spend more on homelessness and had shifted its focus from firefighting to promoting DEI.
Likewise, throughout this fire, a common complaint has been that flammable brush that should have been cleared (and was largely responsible for the current fire) never was removed due to poor management by the city and excessive environmental regulations. Now consider this 2009 article:
LOS ANGELES — Federal authorities failed to follow through on plans earlier this year to burn away highly flammable brush in a forest on the edge of Los Angeles to avoid the very kind of wildfire now raging there, The Associated Press has learned.
Months before the huge blaze erupted, the U.S. Forest Service obtained permits to burn away the undergrowth and brush on more than 1,700 acres of the Angeles National Forest. But just 193 acres had been cleared by the time the fire broke out, Forest Service resource officer Steve Bear said.
The agency defended its efforts, saying weather, wind and environmental rules tightly limit how often these "prescribed burns" can be conducted.
Bear said crews using machinery and hand tools managed to trim 5,000 acres in the forest this year before the money ran out. Ideally, "at least a couple thousand more acres" would have been cleared.
Obtaining the necessary permits is a complicated process, and such efforts often draw protests from environmentalists.
Biologist Ileene Anderson with the Center for Biological Diversity, an environmental organization, said burn permits should be difficult to get because of the potential damage to air quality. Clearing chaparral by hand or machine must be closely scrutinized because it can hurt native species.
"Our air quality, for a variety of factors, doesn't need to be further reduced by these controlled burns," she said.
Similarly, in Maui, some of the key issues that led to the 2023 fire were years of neglected brush management (despite everyone warning brush around power lines could spark wildfires), the power lines not being turned off during high winds, neglected infrastructure which caused the fire hydrants in Lahaina to run dry (which has also happened in the recent Los Angeles fires), evacuation routes being blocked by bumped to bumper traffic (due to poor advice from police) and a failure to sound the warning sirens (which led to people not evacuating).
What many do not know is that in 2018, a smaller fire ripped through Lahaina, where concerned residents identified all of these issues, but nothing was ever done to address them (and remarkably, the official report about the 2018 fire failed to even mention any of it).
In turn, I (and many others) believe that if there was any type of accountability (e.g., the other party getting elected after repeated gross failures by the ruling party) these types of things would not happen. Unfortunately, Hawaii, like California, is effectively under Uniparty rule so nothing has ever been done (and to the best of my knowledge, the Lahaina fires did not change things in Hawaii either).

Yesterday we received urgent notices via phone that we should evacuate immediately with tips on taking animals and their food, important papers etc. We have ash, but are far from the fires.
Several hours later the phones again had that annoying loud sound of gov urgency. This time it said to ignore the previous evacuation notice. I wonder how many people were stressed out by this.
Out of curiosity, I went to the website which was recommended. It was malfuntioning.
Oh and by the way, we voted Oct. 7 and our votes have NOT BEEN COUNTED yet.
We stay only because most of our children and grandchildren are here. We are 4th generation Californians, they are 6th and 7th generation. Sad.
Please pray for friends who have had to leave their homes and don't know if their homes will be saved.

I've looked at maps and they show that the Pacific Palisades where the biggest fire is--the one most of the media reports talk about--is on the ocean.
My point was also that the ocean lacks the proper infrastructure to pump water into the fire trucks. Reservoirs have hydrants and other equipment for that purpose.
If ocean water can be quickly gotten into fire trucks, then they ought to do so.
-
I have a real good view of the fire. The wind has died down somewhat but I DO NOT SEE EVEN ONE FIRE FIGHTING AIRCRAFT IN THE AIR

Well, Canada sent 2 water bombers but a tiny illegal drone put one of the planes out of commission. 8" hole in the wing. So, holey wing, unholy smoke. BTW no drone flying in restricted areas.!!..those are sane laws, but of course someone wants to get great videos , and get high view ratings on whatever platform.
I feel very concerned about the overall damage, deaths, displaced people. Where will they go? " FAIR Insurance etc. , Never seen anything like it, except WWII docs. Dresden ,1945 Germany comes to mind...Still, God is in total control. I wonder why He is allowing this to torch California? San Francisco, pray for us+

.
Yeah, I doubt it's that easy to spray ocean water at a fire. Fire trucks are designed to bring hoses to the nearest fire hydrant, which is supposed to supply the water. I doubt fire trucks are designed to be parked next to a body of water and just suck the water out of it and spray it at the fire.
But as far as why the hydrants can't supply the water necessary to put out the fire, that's an entirely different question and one that I'm sure a lot of people in that great burning Sodom want answered.

Democrat Megadonor Couple With Monopoly On Calif. Water Supply Blamed For Exacerbating LA Fires

Find out how a billionaire husband and wife gained control over much of the state's H2O.

Amid the deadly fires currently devastating Los Angeles, California, a widely circulated video reveals that a husband and wife known for their significant donations to the Democratic Party have been diverting hundreds of billions of gallons of water annually.
The “More Perfect Union (https://perfectunion.us/how-this-billionaire-couple-stole-californias-water-supply/)” presentation exposes Lynda and Stewart Resnick for essentially taking over the California water industry decades ago.
According to the nonprofit newsroom, the Resnicks seized control of California’s public water supply via a series of secret meetings back in 1994.
After Golden State taxpayers footed the bill for the Kern Water Bank, the couple eventually gained a 60% ownership of the water resource.
The Resnicks also have a stake in several other major water banks throughout the state.
Now, the power couple sells the state’s water back to the very citizens who have a right to the natural commodity.
Of course, donating (https://www.forbes.com/sites/chloesorvino/2021/09/20/amid-drought-billionaires-control-a-critical-california-water-bank/) massive amounts of money to California Democrat politicians such as Gavin Newsom and Dianne Feinstein ensures their monopoly stays intact.
In addition to funding leftist politicians, the Resnicks donate huge sums to the University of California system in exchange for collegiate departments releasing studies that suggest federal and state taxpayer dollars be used to fund water projects that further benefit the family’s H2O enterprise.
Ana Kasparian, the liberal co-host and producer of The Young Turks, shared the “More Perfect Union” report on 𝕏 and lambasted Democrat officials in L.A. for draining water supplies.
“CA, and especially LA, is controlled by Democrats. THEY are responsible. No more passing the buck. Our Mayor, who was in Ghana as fires exploded in our city, cut the fire budget by $17 million. Endless amounts of money funneled to bullshit scammer homeless nonprofits. We’re the highest taxed yet we have encampments and squalor everywhere. Even worse, we don’t have enough firefighters to respond to the absolute disaster we’re experiencing right now. Rather than conserve the record rain we got last year, we just drained it into the ocean. We are a failing city run by a sick excuse for local government. You want to radicalize people against the modern Democratic Party? Send them to LA.”
Yes Mr. Resnick is Jєωιѕн. Don't know about her.

The $750,000-a-year LA water czar is responsible for a raft of failures that contributed to the devastating Palisades Fire, fire department insiders told DailyMail.com.
On Mayor Karen Bass's orders, the city maxed out its budget to 'attract private-sector talent', hiring Department of Water and Power (LADWP) CEO Janisse Quiñones on a $750,000 salary in May – almost double that of her predecessor.
Now, Quiñones is being blamed by LA Fire (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/la-fires/index.html) Department (LAFD) insiders for leaving a nearby reservoir disconnected and fire hydrants broken for months, DailyMail.com can reveal, leading to firefighters running out of water as they battled the devastating Palisades Fire this week. And, Daily Mail.com has learned, Quiñones past employer is also linked to fire scandals. She was previously a top executive at electricity company PG&E, which went bankrupt over liability for several massive wildfires in California (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/california/index.html).
She served as senior vice president at Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) from 2021 to 2023.
The utility company's power lines sparked the second-largest wildfire in California history, Dixie, in 2021. (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5773539/Power-lines-touching-trees-blamed-4-California-wildfires.html) Its involvement in the 2018 Camp Fire cost PG&E a $13.5billion legal settlement.
The firm's liability for allegedly causing fires was estimated at $30billion when it filed for bankruptcy in 2018. It exited bankruptcy in 2020.
Quiñones joined PG&E in April 2021 as Senior Vice President of Gas Engineering, switched to Senior Vice President of Electric Operations in July 2022, and left the firm in December 2023.

Gavin Newsom is slammed for car crash interview about LA fires

Sources told DailyMail.com that since her hiring at LADWP, Quiñones oversaw the shutdown and emptying of a reservoir in the Pacific Palisades during brushfire season.
The shutdown meant firefighters battling the current Palisades Fire ran out of water faster, experts say.
The Santa Ynez Reservoir is designed to hold 117 million gallons of drinking water. But it was taken offline in recent months to repair a tear in its cover that exposed the water and potentially impacted its drinkability.
The shutdown was first publicly reported by the LA Times (https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2025-01-10/as-flames-raged-in-palisades-a-key-reservoir-nearby-was-offline) on Friday morning.
Former DWP general manager Martin Adams told the paper that having the Santa Ynez reservoir would have helped fight the Palisades Fire that wiped out most of the Pacific Palisades neighborhood this week.
'Would Santa Ynez have helped? Yes, to some extent. Would it have saved the day? I don't think so,' Adams said.
He said the crucial reservoir had been offline 'for a while' before the fires, but didn't know the precise date.
But a source in the LA Fire Department (LAFD) told DailyMail.com that DWP officials told them 'had it not been closed they probably would have been ok and had enough water for the fire.'

Sources told DailyMail.com that since her hiring at LADWP, Quiñones oversaw the shutdown and emptying of the Santa Ynez Reservoir in the Pacific Palisades during brushfire season. The water source was empty when the inferno broke out this week

LA Mayor Karen Bass' outrageous claim about water supplies during wildfires

At a press conference this week, Quiñones said firefighters ran out of water in the Palisades due to low pressure (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14268627/LA-water-chief-janisse-quinones-fire-hydrants-bumbling-video.html) in the system, because they were using water faster than it was being replenished.
A well-connected former LAFD senior officer told DailyMail.com that lack of water was already a 'common' problem, exacerbated by DWP failing to fix cutoff fire hydrants (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/galleries/article-14270157/LAs-water-boss-struggles-explain-ran-water.html).
'Yearly, the fire department goes out and checks every hydrant,' he said.
'For my entire career we would do this once a year then send in a report to our Hydrant Unit with all the problems we encountered. Year after year the same hydrants that had problems were not fixed.
'One example that comes to mind were the hydrants by Palisades High School on Temescal Canyon. They were dry many times we checked them. DWP knew they had problems and it would take months to fix them.
'It's a City-wide known problem with DWP.
'Last year the yearly hydrant checks were given back to DWP because the firefighters literally are too busy on calls.
'I would be willing to bet DWP didn't do this. I would love to see if they have the docuмents.'

The city maxed out its budget to 'attract private-sector talent', hiring Department of Water and Power (LADWP) CEO Janisse Quiñones on a $750,000 salary in May

Many have complained about LA Mayor Karen Bass being AWOL in Africa, to fire hydrants running out of water and electricity to power cables being left on to fuel the flames. (Pictured: Bass and Gavin Newsom touring the Palisades Wednesday)

Flames from the Palisades Fire burn through a residential building on Sunset Boulevard amid a powerful windstorm on January 9, in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles
LADWP did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
A current senior LAFD official also told DailyMail.com that some hydrants in the Palisades were not working when desperate firefighters tried to use them this week, and that they had not been fixed because of budget cuts by LA Mayor Karen Bass.
DailyMail.com exclusively obtained a memo to LAFD 'top brass' sent on Monday January 6, the day before the Palisades Fire began, revealing demands from Bass to cut the department's budget by a further $49million (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14271021/los-angeles-mayor-karen-bass-fires-department-budget-cuts.html), on top of $17.6million of cuts already voted on by the city council.
The Los Angeles Daily News (https://www.dailynews.com/2025/01/09/factcheck-was-the-lafd-budget-cut-no-it-actually-increased-heres-how/) previously reported that the city's overall spending on its fire department increased by $53million in the fiscal year 2024-25 which runs to this July, but that $7 million of their budget was put in a separate fund for personnel while pay negotiations were still being hashed out, leading to the $17.6million accounting shortfall.
Department veterans told DailyMail.com that the net effect of the budget machinations has meant less firefighters on the ground for years.
The under-fire LADWP was only just recovering from a series of major scandals, including in 2022 when its former General Manager David Wright was sentenced to six years in federal prison for bribery.
Wright took bribes from lawyer Paul Paradis to help secure a $30million, three-year, no-bid LADWP contract for the lawyer's company, according to federal prosecutors.
Compounding the corruption, Paradis was also taking nearly $2.2million in illegal kickbacks from a complex scheme where he simultaneously represented LADWP and residents suing the department over a billing debacle.
DWP implemented a new billing system in 2013 that inaccurately inflated utility bills, sparking class-action lawsuits.
Paradis represented the city as Special Counsel, but was simultaneously representing claimants in the billing debacle, and colluded to get a favorable payout for himself and clients. He was sentenced to three years in prison in 2023.
