I don't know about this --
But no good will come from this wide-scale permanent gene manipulation. You can't mess with God's machinery (the human body) in this way without adverse effects.
The immune system as God created it works just fine. But just try to avoid ALL sickness and suffering, try to make people immune to everything, and nature fights back. The immune system attacks itself, shuts down, etc.
