Yes, ... They say not all olive oils are the same. I was told the best comes from Italy, that you have to know your distributor. I started to read labels, on the different brands in the Grocery Store. Goes from A to Z..
What I did notice was that most were a mixture of four or five different countries, even though called , "Virgin". For my money with four or five different mixtures, I am not trusting any of them.
Supposedly you need to look for "Cold Pressed", First Press.
I recently found one that I use that comes from California a virgin Oil. which says on the ingredients ,, "Olive oil". first cold pressed.
AS you probably know , cold press means that the olives are not heated . Most oils are heated to extract that extra oil from the pulp, but destroy s a lot of the ensyemes etc.
I think the label was "California Ranch",,
A little side note tidbit , I learned from my Italian friend.
