Title: Non Fluoride toothpaste
Post by: Zenith on July 25, 2012, 06:43:06 AM
I recently moved from Australia to the US and back in Australia I was able to buy non-fluoride toothpaste from the supermarket but I can't find it here. Does anyone know any particular toothpaste that is non-fluoride here in the US and where I can get it?

Try any health stores?

If it's that important to you can order it online.  A couple large tubes of toothpaste will last you a very long time.

http://www.vitacost.com/christophers-herbal-tooth-and-gum-powder?bv=product-_-4595-_-RLP-_-38703-_-productname_link&pd_section=pr#

Dr Christopher's tooth and gum powder.
It's a little better "dry" than wet.
It's a powder so it gets all over the bathroom, you may want to designate a few cheap wash cloths to use to wipe down the sink or counter with.

They used to have a sign up a friend and you both get a $10 credit, that would recude the cost to under $7 including shipping. I'll see if it's still a current promotion.

Tom's of Maine brand you can find just about anywhere. http://www.tomsofmaine.com/products/toothpaste#/?page=Toothpaste

I've been using these two recipes:    (I swapped a few ingredients in the first one)

http://www.mommypotamus.com/homemade-toothsoap-tooth-powder-recipes/

The first does not taste very good, but using the soap and the scrub has worked well.

I am big on healthy teeth.

Grocery stores or supermarkets will often have a section with natural products and you should be able to find fluoride-free toothpaste there.  The grocery store that we usually go to has Tom's of Maine and another brand called Nature's Gate.

We watch fairly regularly for them to go on sale and stock up then.

Here's the link Tiffany mentioned that will get you $10 off if you've never used Vitacost before.

If that doesn't work for you, I have another coupon around here that I might or might not be able to locate.  :smirk:

LOL, I thought everyone did that!

Nylndech, I've used just baking  soda  when I've been down to pennies, but I  prefer some flavor and I'm stocked on ingredients to make my own for at least a couple years.

I make my own "fancy" soaps too.
