Title: Non electric coffee percolators
Post by: Viva Cristo Rey on August 02, 2017, 01:09:37 PM
Which is better? Aluminum or stainless steel coffee percolator?

I bought one aluminum from about 1940's era.  And a cowboy one made out of ceramic coated.

I feel , "The Ceramic"
I just rejuvenated one from my cellar recently.  I can t tell you what memories it brings back, and the smell of the that "just right", coffee, and the purculating bubbles , when its almost done.
Everyone should go back to percolating coffee.  I use the stove burner, electric or gas, same results. Its in the Ceramic.

But then again we used to use a electric one , only on  special occasion,  with the self timer.  That was equally as good.  I believe it was made of some kind of Stainless.

Not much of a coffee drinker here, but for a tea pot, and for any sort of stove ware, I would choose ceramic above anything else, except in some cases,  not for coffee of course, cast iron..
