Looks like another "conspiracy theory" confirmed.  I remember hearing early on that the ventilators were killing people, not COVID.  The very idea was grounds for being banned on social media as a "groundless conspiracy theory".

Hospitals got kick backs about $35,000 (maybe I’m off) for putting people on ventilators.
