    • We have just taken our homeschooled pound cake from the oven.

    We used one pound of butter and 6 eggs.  I am one molecule away from obesity just smelling it!

      This is really good brain food for them, if we play Vivaldi during the preparation.  All that butter eggs and cream is good for their little brains.

    • What I dont understand is why anyone eats margarine... it has NO taste!

    I remember listening to a "vintage" advertisement from the 40's or 50's for margarine. After all the natural BS from the announcer of how wonderful and delicious margarine was mentioned, he said "By the way ladies, remember to ask your grocer about yellow margarine (where legal in the states)." Obviously there must have been state commerce laws prohibiting the sale of margarine, and now I know why!

    I gather it's cheaper.

    I never have margarine, incidentally. I've always had an aversion to the idea of it, without knowing much about it.
