As a calorie counter, if you have to eat fast food, one thing I really recommend is keeping a cooler in your car with bottled water and fruit. The sides, drinks, and double portions really do a job on the calories.
One time when I had to eat at McDonalds, I would order a side salad and then put lunchmeat (bought elsewhere) of turkey or ham on it. This man is a CEO so food money is not an issue, but one problem is the healthier foods in a portion large enough to fill you are higher. You get unlimited Coke refills, not OJ or milk. There are no grilled chicken breasts on the $1 menu.
