    What is with these people letting their dogs lick them? Dogs clean their butts with their tongue. Dogs eat animal poop with their tongues. Dogs eat their own vomit with their tongues.

    • Those people trained their dogs to follow them around and beg for food. Someone did a piece about how modern women train dogs basically to fill the void of a husband. Then they wonder why the dogs ain’t worth a damn. It ain’t the dog’s fault, it’s the owner’s.

    • I've always found it repulsive to watch someone allow their dogs to lick their face. And, I submit that there are two types of people in the world: Those who think it's ok to let the dog eat off of their dishes and those who don't.

    • Yeah, letting your dog lick your face is nasty. I've never admonished my dogs for licking me when I was lying down outside, I just found it funny, but intentionally letting your dog lick your face(especially your mouth) is just disgusting. Their tongues are filthy. You should never seek it, and always clean your face after if they leap up and lick it.

    As for the dogs running away, I wouldn't blame them. Those dogs have never known any sort of adversity. They have been treated like puppies all their lives, so they continue to act like them. It makes for very friendly dogs, but useless guard dogs.

    I like Tradition In Action site, but I mostly disagree with them here. The only valid point they make is not kissing stray or unknown animals helps protect against epidemiological risk dynamics. It helps guard against animal vectors of pathogens. They're wrong about AIDS and venereal disease transmission simply by kissing an animal.

    If you have an indoor pet, the animal-to-human risk of transmission of pathogens is almost zero, even when you kiss your pets.

    To look down upon animals with such disdain & objectification is sort of a Jєωy mentality.

    St. Francis of Assisi had a much more positive view of, and interaction with, animals. He called animals "brothers under God".

    Talk about Jєωy mentality.  We are strictly talking about animals licking your face.  Objection to that alone cannot be equated with disdain and objectification of animals.

    Animals , including dogs, are on a different rank in creation. Man is made in the image of God, and animals are for man's use. So objectification is normal behaviour of man towards animals. Disdain has no relevance here.

    I find it repulsive when people allow animals to lick them.
