  • Wanted to share this excellent recipe for Kettle Corn I've used for a few years now. Its not the healthiest recipe ever, but sure is tasty! The key to this is to have EVERYTHING prepared before hand. Once the popping starts, you wont have time to do anything! Have out bowls, mittens, pot and lid, sugar, and already measured corn and oil, and you should be good to go. This is a hit every time I make it! :)

    1. Fill a measuring cup with 1 cup of corn kernels.
    2. With the kernels still inside, pour oil into the cup until the kernels are just covered.
    3. In a LARGE heated pot, with oven mitts standing by, and with lid standing by, pour kernel and oil into pot.
    4. Place the lid on pot, and stir pot in circular motion (rather vigorously), so that you can hear the kernels swirling around inside, yet keeping the pot close to heat source. (you can occasionally put the pot down to ensure you get enough heat).
    5. As soon as 1st kernel pops, open the lid quickly, and pour in 1 cup sugar.
    6. Replace lid immediately, and continue to swirl pot in circular motion.
    7. When pops get to 2 seconds between pops, pour into large bowl immediately.

    Enjoy!

  • I should note I used to make this for the fire department, and 1 cup of kernels is quite a bit! But this is so tasty, you might as well make it all lol
