  • President John Magufuli of Tanzania (English subtitles):

Men are not bound, or able to read hearts; but when they see that someone is a heretic by his external works, they judge him to be a heretic pure and simple ... Jerome points this out. (St. Robert Bellarmine)

  • From what I could decipher from his lingo is he's mocking about CV being everywhere and not to get caught up in all the fear and hysteria and get on with your everyday lives and work not the CV boogey man shutting down the world economy.

I don't know what's more ridiculous, finding CV in trees and goats or actually testing trees and goats.

Anyway, I think he might have a point. Just hard to understand him.

  • He is proving that these tests are faulty or rigged.  Maybe any tests from China might even contain the virus.

May God bless you and keep you

    There are English sub-titles.
They were using cells from the fruit (papaya and durian) not the trees.
It is clear enough that he ridiculing all the hoo-ha going on about the fear of corovirus.

  • This COVID hoax joke reminds me of Huey Long's Popa tree analogy, used to describe the difference between Republicans and Democrats.

What an orator!  It's worth the watch

Where I live paw paw and papaya are the same thing. I don't know if it is the same in American SE.
Paw paw / papaya is a large tropical fruit which grows directly from the main trunk of the tree, as do its leaves. The tree does not usually have branches.

President John Magufuli of Tanzania  is basically saying all this COVID-19 concern is all hype with no science backing it up. To prove his case, he swabbed samples of various items and animals and sent it to their version of the CDC but he told them these were samples from people, he even gave them names and ages (this is a sample from Elizabeth, age 39, etc. but in reality it was a goat, or some engine oil). Their CDC came back with results that Joe (a papaya) had COVID-19, but Sue (a goat) is negative, and Jane (engine oil) is inconclusive , etc.  So his message to his people, was IF there is such a thing as Cornoavirus, then it is everywhere and has been here forever, so do not fear. But that is a big IF, as the papaya was swabbed from the inside of the fruit, and fruits do not have cornavirus growing inside them.

  • The American Paw Paw is not the same as the papaya. What they have in Tanzania is probably not the same unless they used imported fruit. That being said, it's not really important. Tanzania showed that the tests they got were either highly flawed or the people who are reading the tests are just calling everything positive.

  • There is Carica papaya:

    Quote from: Wikipedia
The papaya (/pəˈpaɪə/, US: /pəˈpɑːjə/) (from Carib via Spanish), papaw (/pəˈpɔː/[2]) or pawpaw (/ˈpɔːpɔː/[2])[3] is the plant Carica papaya [...]

    and there is Asimina triloba:

    Quote from: Wikipedia
Asimina triloba, the papaw, pawpaw, paw paw, or paw-paw, among many regional names, is a small deciduous tree native to the eastern United States and Canada [...]

The name pawpaw or papaw, first recorded in print in English in 1598, originally meant the giant herb Carica papaya or its fruit [...]

In Tanzania they grow Carica papaya. For images see facebook.com/Papaya-Farming-Tanzania-PAFTA

Tanzania showed that the tests they got [...]

Tanzania showed that tests should be tested everywhere.

It has never been shown that the virus causes any disease. The virus has not even been isolated. Hans Tolzin, a well-known German vaccine-critic has offered  €100.000 for anyone presenting scientific proof that a Coronavirus causes respiratory problems.
