  • Today is international Irish Coffee Day.

We are in Delaware.   The snow is coming down hard.  We stopped at Arner's Restaurant on Dupont Highway to get some breakfast.  On sign we saw it was International Irish Coffee Day.  It was very good and strong.

Now we are off to Nextel place for our cell phones. One of my New Years resolution is to keep up with technology.
May God bless you and keep you

You DO know that there is brandy or whiskey in Irish coffee? Hope you were not driving.

Anyway if you want to keep up with technology, get yourself a good Sony Vaio laptop.

    Why?

Because then you will be (even) cool(er).

  • Yeah.  It was strong.   I had to use some of my husband's coffee to dilute it.

Get some Irish Baileys and pour it into coffee. Nice.

  • Yes, that would have been better.   It's too early to drink.

At home I have Dell laptop.  Monday we're scheduled to get huges net because we live out in the country.
May God bless you and keep you

  • Try a toddy:

    Quote
The Irish version, hot whiskey, generally uses Irish whiskey, brown sugar, a lemon slice with cloves, and hot water.

Complete the treat with a dish of rum balls.

  • I am curious.

If you go into a restaurant in your country, is there a "Full Irish breakfast" on the menu?

    FIB = 1 fried egg, 2 sausage, 2 bacon, 2 pudding, 1 tomato, 1 hash brown, beans

  • My grandmother always used to keep a bottle of the stuff in the house.

I think there was one once, but they went out of business.

    A more typical breakfast+

3 eggs any style, hash browns, thick sliced bacon, toast.

    Beans, are you serious ?

Soulguard, stop!  You're making me hungry!  And I can't eat now!  I'm just about to leave to go to Mass!  It's a three hour drive.  When I return, I'll have to stop in a diner in the Bronx and have a complete Irish breakfast for my dinner.  Yes, there are lots of places to get the real thing in NYC!

St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

  • Perhaps this is a suitable thread to draw attention to a new campaign. A friend is organising a day of abstinence on St. Patrick's Day. He wants it to be a day of reparation. He is hoping as many Catholics as possible will abstain from alcohol on the day.
