INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (LifeSiteNews) – Indiana can now enforce its ban on dismemberment abortions after a federal judge lifted her injunction against it in light of reversal of Roe v. Wade.
U.S. District Judge Sarah Evans Barker issued the order on Thursday after a motion from the state’s Medical Licensing Board. It effectively bans abortions at around 13 weeks and later.

The state law prohibits abortionists from “knowingly or intentionally perform[ing] a dismemberment abortion unless reasonable medical judgment dictates that performing the abortion is necessary: (1) to prevent any serious health risk to the mother; or (2) to save the mother’s life.”
, also called dilation & evacuation, are often committed in the second trimester. Abortionists use a sopher clamp to rip out the body parts of a pre-born baby in the womb and to crush the baby’s skull, according to former abortionist Anthony Levatino.

The injunction had been in place for three years since June 2019. “Accordingly, in light of the Supreme Court’s recent decision overruling the legal precedent established in Roe and Casey which were the linchpin holdings for our analysis and rulings, we hereby vacate the preliminary injunction,” Judge Barker wrote.
