Title: heartburn
Post by: herbert on June 26, 2011, 03:03:02 AM
a good "natural" remedy for heartburn is, of all thing, apple cider vinegar. i used to use tums and other antacids, but started using apple cider vinegar last year and it superior to the antiacid stuff.

drink a spoonful, or dilute a spoonful in some water and heartburn go away, stay away.

how counterinutuive

I think you must take it with meals to prevent heart burn.

You can take it before or after. It works.

I just pour a swig worth in a cup, dilute it, and down it after a heavy meal.

I use a pinch of baking soda in a bit of water.  Immediate results and I can't imagine that it would be dangerous in pregnancy.  It is a simple neutraliser.

Better yet, use it for tooth brushing everyday and it pretty much prevents the problem and the baby doesn't get the fluoride.

That would be around the time of our Thanksgiving holiday.  Have you chosen a name or two yet?

A blessed Nativity of Our Lady to all

Don't try both of them at the same time unless you are in the mood for a volcano!

No definite's on names yet or even ideas at the moment We have a tendency to leave that sort of thing until closer to the time

I'm going to give the tooth brushing a try for definite

For those that have GERD badly, I recommend Nexium or Prilosec. The proton pump inhibitors truly stop heartburn in those where the natural medicines do not work. I have tried all of the organic cures and none of them worked. Uncontrolled acid re-flux will eventually kill you at a fairly young age by causing mouth and esophageal cancer. Of course, please visit your doctor and get his recommendation first.
