In addition to horse paste, I too have consumed laundry detergent :laugh1:

In the EU its use to preserve caviar is allowed (E 285), all else uses forbidden.

As Nadir said..

I'd try the glucosamine and chondroitin, you'd probably have to take it for 3 months before seeing any effect. Haven't needed it myself, just going by anecdotal testimony. It's supposed to help sustain and even repair cartilege.

Songbird, have you considered the possiblity of fluorosis?

I used to have such bad arthritis that, at that time, I could not stand my children to come near enough to bump my ankles. This was the mid 90's. I read an excellent very old book and decided to cold turkey ommitting meat, sugar and tea from my diet. I experimented reintroducing all three and I found the culprit was tea. I have never had a cup of tea since and the arthritis went. Today I am affected mildly by arthritis as most people my age are. When I gave up tea I took up espresso coffee, never instant, and it has caused me no grief. Also enjoy a brew of homegrown herbs, every morning a grated ginger tea. Both are delicious, comforting and healthy.

I found out later that tea, Camellia sinensis, contains excessive fluoride. Now if tea is brewed used fluoridated water the effect will be greater still.

Something to consider.

Wow!  I thank all of you for advise.  I also go more info from my cousin.  A lady of ballet has on PBS.org exercises she attests to.  She was in a accident that left her bones broken.  Her exercises are on about 6 am IN time.  And my husband found it on PBS at 4:30 am AZ time.  My cousin says it is fantastic how the muscles are to be worked and get you back to walking and she climbs ladders! This lady has a book "aging backwards" by Esmonide (sp)-White "classical stretch eccentrics. Can also be found on computer.

Hm? sounds like a try.  I need to work on my flat feet, ankle area in addition to the hip area.  I shall try.

I know that black cherry pits and juice are protective against arthritis.  My Amish friends with arthritis used to eat a small bowl of home canned, pitted cherries every evening, pits and all. If you can’t or don’t want to swallow the pits, they can be boiled and soaked in karo syrup or ground up finely and used as fiber. 🍒
