  • Baseball great Hank Aaron died two days ago of a heart attack, it is all over the news. What they don't tell you is that he received the CÖVÌD "ναccιnє" two weeks ago.

    'Proud' Aaron receives CÖVÌD-19 ναccιnє

    By Mark Bowman @mlbbowman
    January 5, 2021

ATLANTA -- Hank Aaron expressed pride after being injected with the CÖVÌD-19 vaccination. The iconic Hall of Famer hopes his willingness to be ναccιnαted Tuesday will help lessen concerns some Black Americans may have about receiving the shot.
“[Getting ναccιnαted] makes me feel wonderful,” Aaron told The Associated Press. “I don’t have any qualms about it at all, you know. I feel quite proud of myself for doing something like this. ... It’s just a small thing that can help zillions of people in this country.”

Aaron, former United Nations ambassador Andrew Young and former U.S. Health and Human Services secretary Louis Sullivan were accompanied by their spouses and other civil rights leaders when they were ναccιnαted at the Morehouse School of Medicine.
Aaron and his wife, Billye, have been top donors to the medical school, which Sullivan founded in Atlanta in 1975.
Young told the AP the mistrust Black Americans have for vaccinations stems from the Tuskegee experiment, an infamous study which left syphilis untreated in participating Black men without their consent. The experiment spanned from 1932-72.
“I’ve been taking ναccιnєs now for 88 years and I haven’t been sick,” Young said. “The truth of it is, Black folk have been living by shots, and just because they did something crazy and murderous and evil back in 1931, we’re still thinking about that. We’ve got to get over that.”

Mark Bowman has covered the Braves for MLB.com since 2001.

  • Hank Aaron was a famous baseball player, considered one of the greats. He was an icon to blacks, so they got him to take the shot to show blacks that it was no big deal. It backfired on them!

  • By the way, can someone update me on the nurse that passed out on TV during her vaccination? She was like the first person that took the shot on TV, and I never heard of her again,  one way or the other (whether she died or is back at work fine and alive and kicking).

That Ukrainian Catholic priest who took the vaccine also died of a heart attack.  Both he and Hank Aaron were elderly, so perhaps it puts a strain on the heart of elderly recipients.

Sometimes there are coincidences, but these two prominent cases, both having heart attacks a few weeks after the Moderna vaccine ... it's starting to look a bit less like coincidence.

Also Moderna, also a heart attack, also somewhat elderly (this priest was 70 years old).

  • Whenever someone says, "It's different now. That [bad thing] couldn't happen today." Immediately tune them out, write them off as a deluded idiot who believes in evolution.

Everything you read about in history books could happen *tomorrow* if the conditions were right, and they could easily be right. Human nature hasn't changed ONE IOTA since Cain and Abel. Original Sin is Original Sin. Man's fallen nature hasn't gotten any better with age.

  • Well, look at the bright side: now he'll go down in history for calling his own shot, just like Babe Ruth!

Hank Aaron was a Catholic and find your denigration/mockery of his death above to be more than a bit troubling.

Thanks for the information, I didn't know he was a Catholic.

However, what I wrote is not denigration, I don't see any denigration in what I wrote, on the contrary, it says that they used him, and it backfired on them.  I said: "Hank Aaron was a famous baseball player, considered one of the greats. He was an icon to blacks, so they got him to take the shot to show blacks that it was no big deal. It backfired on them! "

There is another posting that is a denigration, maybe you meant to quote that one?

I always liked Hank Aaron, because he was a very humble man, specially considering that he was such a gifted athlete. I am happy now for him, whereas before your news, I thought his death was the end of another wasted life.

  • I agree that Last Trad's comment was not a denigration of the man.  PS, I find your use of the term "denigration" to be racist.   :laugh1:

It's great to know that he converted and became a Catholic.  Unfortunately, he only enjoyed the true faith for about a decade before the New Mass.

  • From :  https://aleteia.org/2021/01/22/hank-aarons-friendship-with-milwaukee-catholic-priest-impacted-his-life/

"According to Catholic News Service, the Aarons were received into the Church in 1959, though Hank Aaron later became a Baptist. The couple divorced in 1971. Aaron is survived by his second wife, Billye. "

His first wife is still living, so he was an adulterer. Not good, especially that he died in his sleep while in good health.

I have a lot of relatives like that. I do not believe he can receive a Catholic funeral.

  • None of the posts denigrated the man.  Why such hypersensitivity?

  •                       Hank Aaron had a perfect swing.

But he was no match for the "Babe", despite what Jєω, race-baiting sports writers say.

Raised by the Xaverian Brothers, Babe persevered as a Catholic to the end.

"Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it underfoot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi

No, it appears an effeminate poster has been downthumbing it and anyone who thinks it was funny (except for you of course).
